I had a moment of inspiration while unpacking an electric cooker I was given today by a good friend of ours: the Polystyrene packaging material looked like the rim of a lake! So there I went with a crafts knife and sandpaper, and made it into a rather largish lake. After priming, the Polystyrene parts are going to be soil and the cardboard part is going to be muddy water. The plastic packaging behind it (a separate piece) is going to be made into the Ecologists' mobile bunker. So this is going to be Yantar. Nothing beats a S.T.A.L.K.E.R zombie game! ![]() Uploaded with ImageShack.us |

For the time being, mostly acrylic color. Is there a better (though still affordable) way to do it? And is there an affordable way top add some shrubbery and/or reeds? |

Great start Golan. I have done water effects by painting the lake in the base colour then putting on a thick layer of PVA glue and leaving it to dry. Another method is to paint it then gloss varnish it. When dry keep adding fresh layers of varnish until it looks like a muddy lake. |
