I've started working on some cars for a death race style game I am putting together below are two 28mm scale cars being kitted out with armour.

As you can see the Ford Mustang still needs a weapon. The other concept car already has two AT4 Swatter missiles and will also get a light machine gun.
The Death Race game will be set in a PA settlement and I've got several ideas to include mutant slaves as cannon fodder and arbitrator vehicles to spice up game play, but first I want a couple of cars to aid the play testing.

This is a beach buggy style car with an old Gorkamorka digga driver sitting nicely on board, next up for this is a scratch build seated gunner and weapon. This car will be part of the vehicles for my Goliath scavenger gang and will have very little armour on it...

Thats all for now folks ..... :hi:

I've finished the white death race car and 'am slowly fixing up several vehicles at the same time. Here are some more shots of the orange car showing the drilled out foot well so I can stick in another seated figure, the transfer on the hood will be comming off as I want to draw my own design on it.

Next I started to cut up a 1/43 scale Porsche, off came the roof and one of the front doors ready for some seated figures.

Last vehicle for now was a resin model from ramshackle games, the Badger, this went together fairly well. Once the glue had dried I stuck on some bits and bobs and sculpted a tarpaulin draped over the engine.

I want to finish the orange car and death race Ford Mustang before I do any more vehicles......more to follow...... :hi:

SYK, Yep they are gorkamorka driver legs, I intend to make this a set of wheels for a mutant faction I am building.

JUNKERS, That car is a Mustang from the old superkings range from matchbox it comes in close to 1/48 or 1/43 scale. I've done more work on this car so I'll take some photos at the weekend with a 28mm fig along side it, photos should be up early next week...... :hi:

IRONBLOOD the digga I've had in my bits box for 10 years, I think it came with a gorkamorka truck, good luck on ebay...

I've fitted in a seated gunner. I used a dark eldar torso, SM head, digga arms and cut and repositioned eldar legs to make the gunner. I also had to bulk out the figure's ass and legs with green stuff then wrapped chains around the shoulders. The gunner is slightly bigger than the driver, but I think I just about got away with it.

Head on shot of the car and crew and the scratch built weapon. I made a multi-barreled spear gun out of lollipop stick tubes and have fitted 4 cocktail sticks as the spears ( not yet shown ). All I have to do now is armour up the engine block in the rear , remove and paint a new transfer and paint up and weather the whole car and crew.

Posted Image Took another door off the Porsche and sprayed the seats.... :hi:

Hahah that Porsche is going to be a great vehicle to have. Make sure you have a yuppie skeleton strapped down on the body somewhere.

Those things are worth their weight in gold as are the attack biker legs.

The Diggas had their own truck model in Gorkamorka. Unfortunately, just like the above-mentioned ork driver/biker legs, you hardly ever see the driver figure available seperately these days so you end up paying out the nose for the whole vehicle (when you can find it) just to get the driver.

Dan,
Not sure on what colour to do the Mustang, it might end up similar to its current bodywork paint job but I'm open to ideas. Yellow is out of the question as I have an other car ear marked for that colour, I could copy the movie mustang and do black with red stripes......

A nice blue or a traditional Wastelander Matt Black perhaps. I see a lot of Mustangs over here in white, silver or blue. The old Mach1/Mach2 classics always seem to be red.

A quick update, did a tiny bit more work and undercoat on the badger. Not sure what I'll use this as, might put a big fat mortar or artillery peice in the back.

Posted Image

Started on another Death race car an AMX Javelin ( matchbox superkings ). Started to paint the Mustang, I'll do a death race painted cars thread in a month or so.

Posted Image

Kitted out the porsche with a gunner and driver, like the Badger truck, this is a " slow burner ".

Cheers troops..... :hi:

That Porsha needs some rollbars added to liven up the model.

I am having a real mental block with the Porsche, still trying to get a cheap skeleton to pin on the front. I'll try and get motivated at the weekend and crack on with this " mutie " ride....... :hi:
