Hello everyone! As my first post on this very interesting and inspiring forum I'd like to show you pics of my current project: PA gun truck. The model is made in 1/56 scale and perfectly matches with 28 mm figures. The model is based on a toy metal car of Russian URAL heavy truck. I completely rebuilt this toy, using various materials - plastic, aluminium foil, wire, syringe needle, paper clips, Green Stuff, Master Club resin rivets, some spare parts from plastic models, etc. Some intermediate photos of building stage are here: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The main idea was to create a caravan escort vehicle. It's is armed with 30 mm automatic cannon dismounted from an old Soviet AIFV. Due to technical issues rate of fire was decreased to 180 shots per minute and ammo supply mechanism was remanufactured so that 15-round boxes can be used instead of ammunition belt. Two types of rounds are still used - AP and HE ones. AP round is capable to hit super mutant in heavy armor or well-protected APC on the distance up to 500 meters and non-protected super-mutants or lightly armored cars on the distance up to 1 km. The vehicle is protected by scratch metal sheets. Engine compartment and front windows are covered with 10 mm sheets, doors are 15+5 mm thick, fuel tanks are covered by 15 mm sheets, body and gun shield sheets are 5 mm thick. The crew consists of 4 men - driver, co-driver, gunner and loader. The final pics of the model ready to be painted are here: ![]() ![]() |

where do you find 1/56 scale Ural trucks these days? I have had no such luck. I really like what you have done with the model. Removing the back and scratch building a gun carriage was a bold move which looks to have really paid off. Hurry up and paint it so we can all admire and worship it
