I was stumbling around the internets, checking up on some of my old hot spots when I noticed a fairly new (well, new to me anyway) game and modeling section on Necromundicon called STARCRASHERS. It's basically Battlefleet Gothic with a retro sci-fi twist, kind of like Buck Rogers and Captain Cosmos meets Battlestar Galactica. There are Derelict ships meant to be plundered, Pirates to hunt, giant space Leviathans to slay, and alien Emmisaries and Survivors to rescue.... not to mention Radiation Storms and Black Holes! All your classic "Worlds of Tomorrow" goodness in SPACE! Anyone ever check this out? Or even better, have a fleet built and PLAYED it? I'm starting one right now, and if you want to check this out for yourself, head over to Necromundicon and see this craziness for yourself:

Happy trails you nerfherders, and god speed!

I have not tried these rules. My fleets are based on GZG's full thrust. I am tempted to give some of these a whirl. I am interested on the scale as a Capitol ship in full thrust is about 2-3 inches long.

Great site with lots of inspiration. Thanks for sharing!

I did play a friend's variant of Full Trust and enjoyed it to the most part. I just am not fond of ships alone I suppose, there was a definite lacking of gaming elements that appeal to me. Give me ground pounding troops slogging through mud and blood. Ships just aren't personal enough for me.

Best part about it to me is, unlike most other ship based games, the fleet is 100% customizeable. If you have any kind of ship idea you wanted to try, but couldn't due to rules and regulations in the other games you play, you can go full throttle (pun intended) on your ships here! I just drew up plans for a race called the Shaard, an alien crystaline humanoid race whose ships are carved from the very rock and minerals from their homeplanet. Also the Kraan Empire, simmilar to the Starwars empire, but with a more sinister, more spikey element added to them.

If your stuck for ideas, there is also a fantastic conceptual design studio site called:

Absolutely BEAUTIFUL designs, both retro and futuristic!
Post your own favorite ships up here too if your interested, show us some more fleet goodness!
