I've been wondering if maybe I should have biker gangs in my post-apoc. In your collective opinion... are GW bikes a good choice? In terms of scale, appearance and cost-effectiveness. What are your opinions? |

Ork Warbikes definitely have a PA look. Finding a human figure that will fit on them properly might be a problem though. I kitbashed mine using bits from WHF Chaos Marauders, Catachan Troopers, and Gorkamorka Ork Bikers. For a biker gang, you might consider West Wind's "Roadkill - Human Biker Gang". |

I use a mix of Westwind, hotwheels and GW bikes. The GW bikes can look a bit large, although I am not too such how Ramshackle bikers scale with them. GW bikes tend to have very large handle bars. The Ork bikes make good PA bikes. I tend to use Westwind bikers and some kit bashed plastics as riders. The westwind bikes will need some tweaking to make them fit the GW bikes. You have to bend arms and legs about. Check out my bikes at the end of this Thread. Also further pictures in my Biker land thread. |

I'd say GW bikes are too large and too expensive. The Westwind Human Biker gang has 10 choppers plus riders and weapons for 20 quid. You can view a review here: http://thescreamingalpha.com/2009/06/12/review-human-biker-gang-by-west-wind/ And you can view them in the shop here: http://www.westwindproductions.co.uk/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=945 If you want a different style of bike the EM4 bikes are very nice too: http://www.em4miniatures.com/acatalog/MOTORBIKES.html I especially like the trail bike for post apocalyptic settings. If you don't mind larger models Ramshackle has some inexpensive resin bikes as well: http://shop.ramshacklegames.co.uk/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=6 All are lots cheaper than GW's 7 quid a piece bikes, and aklso better in size IMO. |

Good point about the size of Ramshackle. I may need to get a couple and do a size comparison . GW are a bit pricey but you can get it down if you go to evil bay. Mine were all bargains from there.

I have one interesting alternative![]() This is a HotWheels motorbike. I have bought it in the supermarket and cost 1,5€ (about 1,80$). Looks very cool because is like a classic Harley-Davidson but a little more futuristic. Fits perfect for 28mm scale. |
