Well, had the rule book for a few years. Pulled out some badly painted WFB models and had a game or three still a few years back. Now I think I really need to make use of it. The topic is of course Mordheim. I think it mixes skirmish gaming and good old fashioned "D&D" roleplaying nicely so really suits my tastes. Now about a month back I initiated this process by buying a box of GW Skaven and a metal assassin. In a flurry I put together 14 of the ratmen then promptly put the whole idea aside. Now, deciding to man-up and get stuck into it all I set to work on the bases and pretty much just do it all. So a couple of nights ago I puttied the bases. Tonight I chipped the stone putty work, made potholes, and generally messed the bases up as appropriate: ![]() Tomorrow night I'll pop them in to be undercoated and set to work on the boss' base and consider putting together the last 6 still on sprues. In the lot that I've done are 3 Henchies armed with slings, 3 with spears, 4 with sword and shield. There's also 4 characters in there, one with flail, one with sword and dagger, one with ninja fighting claws, and lastly a throwing star twin sword rat. I started making a pirate themed one, but he kinda just looks like he's a field mouse........ still, might be a nice comical one to keep. I was thinking of a magic-user, but that will take a bit of work as I only plan on using a plastic head and arms to do the job and putty the rest. There's three buildings in the works, but will need plenty more to get the job done, but I need a combination of time off work (working 19 straight, two off) and warm weather to get into it, and at the moment I'm getting neither. Anyway, that's what I'm up too

Cool Ross. I happen to be acquainted with two of the foremost Mordheim scenery builders in this part of my country. They're both really good chaps too. Von Kurst and playtable @ http://boringmordheimforum.forumieren.com/index.htm playtable's Photobucket account is http://s218.photobucket.com/albums/cc193/playtable/ |

We'll see how we go Brian ![]() Tink you're a legend, I knew of the first link but couldn't remember the name of it to save my life, that second one has some sweet eye candy too! Well, All the Skaven henchmen are undercoated, I've held the Hero's back for a further look to see if there's anything else I'm going to do to them. I'm thinking I might do another 3 or 4 henchmen with spear/shield combo's and the rest as various weapon combination heroes. Not alot of variation for the poor old henchmen for tis warband I'm affraid. I was thinking, but the look of things, this will be a complete set with 23 models. Spare henchmen, heroes, full roster, and a rat-ogre to top it all off. |

Slings are a must for those Ratboys if you're going to use them in Mordheim. I believe they get two shots each with slings. Wayback in a past game of Mordheim Ratboys dispatched and bottled my Orcs and Gobbos very quickly at long range. |

I have a few of the ancient plastic GW SKAVEN, and a box of the much nicer new ones hiding somewhere around here. i have been trying to decided FANTASY or POST APOCALYPE use for them all; but, have been locked into a "writer's block crisis" for montha and unable to reach any decision. . . samething about the new NECROMUNDA scavvies and and RATSKINS- i keep looking at them and thinking this month i will buy them, then lay down and bleed a while (financially!) before rising to fight again. . . but so far my ANGLO-SAXON, ANGLO-IRISH, ANGLO-SCOTTISH, ANGLO-WELSH, ANGLO-NORSE, GERMAN, FRENCH, ITALIAN (could be IRISH with a name like PATTI), SPANISH (maybe - not to sure about this ancestor) and itty bitty NORTH AMERICAN INDIAN genes seem to have an real thing about my shedding of my financial blood and i keep wimping out . . .
