I found some 15mm minis that I picked up years ago lurking in a drawer. So I decided to try painting them up.

This is going to be a exploitation force to check out what is happening on Planet Pandora. They wear camouflage that matches that world's wastelands.

The minis are GZG NAC marines.

I found these to be fiddly to paint but enjoyable. I guess its getting used to scaling down from 28mm. I am going to invest some cash in some more and get them painted. I am thinking either gangs or opposing troops. I plan a skirmish or two too just to see what its like. If I like them then I will go to 15mm for my space opera/sci-fi games.

C & C welcome.

Those look great!

I usually paint 15s and smaller, so when I sit down with a 28 it looks huge! I look at it and think - look how well my mistakes are gonna show up.........

I loved painting my 6mm hordes... airbrush most of the work and just touch in the details... of course the freehand banners were 'fun'... still smaller scales are a lot better to paint if you can handle the details, that being said, im sticking with my 28mm.

Welcome to the world of 15mm, Matt!

I love this scale as these minis are affordable, easy to store, fit my 100 cm by 60 cm (3ft by 2ft) gaming table and have a HUGE amount of ranges available, some of them simple GORGEOUS (especially the new ones from Khurasan Miniatures and Rebel Minis) and they are very easy to paint (in my experience, at least).

Maybe you should have applied an additional darker wash towards the end of the painting process; it would have underlined the details and shaded the lower areas (such as the eyes).
