Does anyone else game post apoc with 1/72 plastic figures? There is such a large range of figures now from special forces to modern militia and world war two partisans and at roughly £5 a box for about 40 figures its also cost affective. Then there are a huge range of vehicle kits along with several building kits including farm houses and concrete bunkers. I do use some 28mm metal minis for things like giant scorpions and spiders and plastic kits for large robots etc. I would post some pics on here but am not sure how you do it. Anyway if anyone is intrested plastic soldier review is a great site for checking out 1/72 plastic figures. |

I've been considering it. I'm currently working on a Cold War game in 20mm from which much of the terrain and figs would be able to be used in a PA setting. I'm almost tempted once I've done this to work on a Twilight 2K game. Problem is that the character of a lot of the figures is lost at 20mm when compared to 28mm. I don't use plastics either, I'm mainly using metal figs from Elhiem and Britannia. The wide range of resin and plastic vehicle kits make it a really interesting scale to game in. |

I'm rather interested in the idea, but I probably wouldn't make the jump from 28mm... I have loads of stuff in 28mm at the moment (a couple of hundred post-apoc things painted, a couple of hundred awaiting paint, a bunch of terrain) so it'd be a bit daft for me personally Although, I was at a local flea market a couple of months ago and picked up a box of 20mm WWII Partisans for a couple of quid - here's the first 8:![]() Still very characterful minis really I later picked up a couple of packs of Germans and will probably pick up some British at some point. And some tanks. And some planes. And some...you get the idea Caesar Miniatures do a lot of rather cool stuff! I like their most recent European Partisans too, I'll be getting some to add to these when I've finished what I currently have...

I have always had a fondness for plastic 1/72 which is a hang over from my childhood I guess. I do have a fair bit of GW stuff and did quite a few conversions but I just keep coming back to the little guys. Its true they don't have so much character at that scale but they do have a certain charm of their own I think. I love those partisans by the way. |

Too deeply entrenched in either 25mm collections or 28's... |

I suppose its the same for most people, they have a scale they have been with a long time and all their gaming stuff has been geared up for it. I know some people like to swap between scales but I have never been keen on doing that myself. |

I've got a small bit of 20mmish stuff ~50 dark future minis and a box of cops and citizens (20's erra) from redbox. When aberrent ever get to putting out some infantry for there warlands game i'll likely be picking them up as well. the 20's citizens make decent PA townies |

For me now it's an issue of terrain more than anything. |

My 20mm-1/72 PA miniatures are all paper flats. Though, I have a small collection of ACW plastics which I have had nothing but bad luck trying to paint

Again guys, you should seriously consider checking out some of the lovely metals in this scale if you want to try 20mm. Here's an example of some of the best figs around with a wonderful paint job. Timmy's USMC |

Like Ross I have been into 28's for a life time. Too much stuff in that scale for me to switch. I have been tempted by 15mm on a few occasions. |

I don't have an awful lot of space so 20mm is better in that regard and of course there is also the cost. I do use 28mm monsters, such as giant spiders, scorpions etc and at that scale they also look much more monstrous when up against 20mm figures. I also think the GW plastic Killerkans make excellent subjects for large ramshackle looking robots. |
