Hello all! I've been pretty busy lately, what with my goals of creating fantasy terrain, and the thoughts of building a Lincoln Memorial Enclave/Wastelander haven board in the near future (cash is very short atm). But the most amazing idea came to me the other day, and all due to the discovery of a small toy during my rounds as a custodian at my church!

Apparently, a toy tractor (28mm scale aproxx) was tossed into the trash after losing a front wheel and the back axle snapped. Looking down at the small thing, I felt a sadness come over me. Here it was, ankle deep in used cups, tissues, and various ammounts of children munchies, past it's prime and never to be played with again. Shaking those horrible thoughts away, I quickly grabbed it and gave it a thurough washing. At first, due to the lack of pieces, I was going to just use it as a LoS blocker terrain in my American Wasteland games, but after some consitteration (and a raiding of my bits box) this lil guy deserves to be layed WITH, not AROUND!

Basically, it is a cheap green and yellow MADE IN CHINA brand tractor. The roof is removeable for easy acess to the innards, and has a pretty good sized seating arrangement inside for a 25-28mm figure. Below is a pic of it now primed and rusted up (combination of Tin Bitz and Gunmetal Grey drybrushing, Devlan Mud wash to come soon :)

Any suggestions for extra armor, trophies, driver concepts, weapon loadouts, and other greebly bitz would be appreciated! I'm thinking about a weapon loadout atm, possibly one that has 2 small weapons, 1 medium, and one large, possibly a melee option or two as well.... spiked dozer blade anyone? lol

Nicely done. Look forward to seeing the finished article. As for more ideas, I think Tink' picture has most of it covered.

I know just the thing to mount on the front. Use the bottom of one of these Horrorclix Carnage Bots

Or the left hand of this Mechwarrior Agromech (basically same piece):
Agromech

I love "found treasures". I work at an apartment complex and people leave behind all kinds of useful bits and bobs when they move, not to mention all the leftover parts when maintenance does repairs.

Nice way to pick up bits and bobs is at your work place scrapheap. I've been known to dumpster dive in my time, unfortunately that time has past... too big to climb up into one

Thank you so much for the awesome comments and amazing ideas guys and gals! I want this to be a community project, throw me ideas and i'll slap'em on! So far, I have applied chains and some trophies to the front hood and grill areas. Also, larger and more reinforced exausts, a spiked dozerblade, manic driver, and equipment storage on the back to come soon! Keep those great ideas a flowin'!

Two things come to mind when seeing this thing:

a) The Killdozer!

b) In the Movie Spacehunter: Adventures in the forbidden zone there is a converted farm tractor like yours - very PA-ish. Generally it's a nice cheesy flick with quite some PA inspirational material. Unfortunately I have been unable to find a pic of it :(

Basically a steam engine powered tractor with a plow.

i remember that movie primarily because of the tractor and MOLLY RINGGWALD as NIKKI THE TWISTER . . . .

some where in the TENNESSEE TREASURE i have my own version of THE MAN REAPER, which is an uparmored CATERPILLAR DEE NINER bulldozer that i named THE KILLDOZER. . .

somewhere else i have a never completed (needs painting) older 40K plastic SM RHINO that i have made into another wastelands mechanical monster named DREDD NUFFINK . . .

i think i actually bought a 40K plastic BASILISK SP gun to work over as DREDD NUFFINK, and that is still in the box unassembled . . . no plans to mount a big gun on same, just use the chasis and plasti-card to make a humongous, APC bristling with shootiness . . .

oh well, SOMEDAY, MY DREAM MUST COME . . .

I have some inspirational photos for you.
During the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939), the communists used some armoured trucks. The trucks were "borrowed" to the citizens and armoured with iron plates (in some cases, also with cushions or wooden plates).
These trucks were known as "Tiznaos" in spanish means "blackeneds".
They were painted with communist motto and political propaganda.
In combat they were not very effective because were very ineffective off-road and the hand-made armour was not very resistant.

This was a luxury car Hispano-Suiza stolen by the communist militias and turned into a "tiznao".
