So what mini recommendations would the gang make for Wasteland Town leaders, Warrior leaders, Warlords, Bandit Kings/Queens, Town Barons, Fortress or Vault/Bunker City Lords and Ladies, officers of the cities troops or band of mercenaries. I see all of these to be better dressed than the rest of the wastelanders. Hey they might even be clean! Town leaders may have suits, although the cuts of these may be more Victorian or Georgian in cut. Warrior leaders will be decorated in what ever fashion that highlights their status in their group such as a helmet or old weapon. Warlords some sort of cool armour depending on your setting this may even be power armour. Bandit leaders in what ever they feel like but I would go for something showy. Lords and Ladies of civilised society (ha!) I would go for suits, uniforms and some real nice pre-end stuff. Probably something with a Victorian/Georgian to sci-fi feel. Again showing off would be important. For the troop types I see the officers in similar uniforms to their troops but as its post apoc they may have more flamboyant uniforms or even something unusual. What are your thoughts? What minis would your recommend? What set this off was the realisation that my Brittannia troops in the redcoats scheme do not have an officer. Like the Black Daggar company I would like a officer and some random Brittannain Lords and Ladies to field with certain the generic red coats. The Queen sends them out on missions with their companies. The more dangerous the mission the more you are out of favor with the Queen. Blackdaggar supplied a gift in the wrong colour and that was only because the queen changed her mind a second after Blackdaggar presented the gift! Now he is his on the North Western front defending Half Pint mutant farmers of the Fair Fields from mutants, bandits and raiders.

A GW Commissar would be a good type officer for your Brittannia troops, even if I have to recommend GW ![]() |

This probably goes without saying but em4's Gentleman Scavenger (#0041) is an absolute "must". |

For the Brittania redcoats you used the older GW Cadians, right? For officers, a couple of the old Mordians could be a good fit. They are a happy medium between fancy blinged up officers uniforms, and generally being armed as normal troopers and not being the GW OTT style that some of the Commisars fall into. Or if you can find them, some of the limited edition Zulu inspired resculpts (who were made as 40k redcoats) could work well as a higher rank of Brittania cannon fodd... Uh I mean elite soldier. Lords and ladies are a bit harder. Maybe the Warmachine range has something that'd work. Do you want them armed or not? For a town leader/mayor type, I'm using an unarmed Foundry Street Violence "detective", shifty looking guy in a suit, long coat and shades. |

Thanks for the ideas. As for Lords and Ladies they will need to be armed. |

Looking through Dawgie's list and seeing the Zulu's mentioned reminded me of the Chronoscope... Col. Edward Titchener, British Officer http://www.reapermini.com/Miniatures/Chronoscope/latest/50006 |

He hasn't been released yet but Smedley Cloverdash for Chronoscope has an interesting steampunk, Victorian sci-fi look to him and would probably make a good PA town/village leader. |

Steam Punk or Victorian is certainly the way I'd go for important civilians. For Bandits, I'd sci fi up some sort of pirate mini. Paint clothing in more modern colors, but keep the pirate style. For military leaders, I like going with WWII style from any faction. My marauder's tend to have more of a fantasy barbarian look, so leader would be a barbarian champion. Pulp sci fi minis seem to fit the style of Vault and Bunker city types. In my mind, skin tight suits, ray guns, and bubble helmets are just the thing. I also like to use Old West minis for solitary wasteland heroes, town lawmen, and the more sneaky and cunning villains. I do this weird mix because it allows me to pick almost any cool mini I find, sci-fi it up a bit and use it. Edited by consectari, Jul 6 2010, 03:58 PM.

Don't ask me why, but I think 1930s Pulp tommygunning criminals would make nice upper class post apoc gangs. It may have something to do with them wearing a cleaner outfit than a couple of rat skins between the legs and a half elbow pad to protect them against gunfire. Curtis does a nice post apoc Tommy gunner in his NucRen range, and there was also a fitting reference in the GOMC1 range, the blitzer. |

Thinking about it, the 'mobsters' in Fallout 2 were all 1920's gangster types too - I'd recommend Copplestone Castings range from experiance, and the figures from Brigade and Pulp look good too! |
