Right heres the updated layout for my vault, lv1 and lv2.... (lv2 being deeper in the ground that lv1 rather than conventially above it).

Level 1:

Level 2:

Since I have about foot width of gaming table unused im going to build an aquaduct that joins onto room 8 Lv1 and runs the length of the facility... I just haven't added it to the layout yet... also after doing some rough calculations... im going to run out of foamcore before im finished... bugger...

Note: the door leading from room 8 level 2 to room 7 is going to be a hidden door... you'll see more once i've finished it.

Mal - Have you tried setting your PDF viewer at 100% zoom (ie: actual size) and taking a screen shot?
Another nice idea to add to my box of copy tricks! Even though I have Photoshop...

I've just seen this post and I love that you're using WWG furniture for your armoury. Incidentally, the Mayhem Police set is worth looking at for more armoury furniture. They have a very nice gun case filled with shotguns and H&K MP5 sub-machine guns, as well as some nifty lockers.

Hmm I may just have to look into that... of course I don't actually buy the sets to build the buildings... I just want the interior pdf's :p

Anyhew as a small tribute to worldworks, i've pinched their mini logo from one of the sets and im going to use it for the vault logo... i.e. plastered everywhere you'd expect motivational posters

Ok with regards to the screen print option... the image is still being resized, just not as drastically... reduce the image size to 69% of its current size and it'll be within 1mm of the original size. (Damn I hate working these things out with trial and error).

That is so odd. If it weren't summer break, I'd ask my computer prof about it. Unfortunately, I won't be seeing her again until September which will be way too late to do you much good. :banghead:

Now that I know the scale ratio its not a major concern, I can simply shrink what I need to fit.

Anyhew, time for an update...

I have the garage, repair bay and main enterance built, and I also have the floors for the rest of the complex... that includes the entire second level also.

Im planning to have the first level completed either tomorrow or the day after.

Pics to follow.

Sounds good Mal.

I am investing in resin for my furnishings. But then that is only because I dont work too well with card. :(

Heh im not working in card, im working in paper (dont have any card and used the last of my funds buying the foamcore)...

For the most part the paper is a stopgap measure until I can get something a little more durable and permanent... may go for resin furniture... got some nice book marks... but I also may build some out of plasticard and use the paper templates to sheath it.

Right picture time!!

All the tunnels and rooms on the first floor have been built with walls! Yay! (well except for the outisde of the enterance), I still need to spray them and add in the doors... but its comming together...
Posted Image

The floor tiles for the second floor have also been cut out, im going to be working on those today and tomorrow to get more walls built on. There are a couple of other ideas I have for the vault, but that'll have to wait until I can get more foamcore.
Posted Image

I've also redone the decor in the armoury, we have gunracks for the big toys now, as well as some highly educational posters on the trusty Ak-47 and how best to use it to make someones head explode like a ripe melon.
Posted Image
Posted Image

I've got the repair shop kitted out, there is a couple more things I want to add, like a car lift and fuel pump... but for now you can at least see what its meant to be used for.
Posted Image

The vault enterance control booth is also in place... that window cut from the foamcore isn't just a hole... I split the foam core down the middle and added in a sheet of clear plastic (be warned high risk of finger amputation whilst performing this modification), and I have a couple of control consoles in there...

Basically once the doors are in place, there will be 2 doors to pass to enter the vault, the first being the main vault entrance door, the second will form the back of the decomination site... so basically the decon door closes, main door opens... truck drives in, main door closes, truck + passengers get decontaminated, then decon door opens.

Oooh pretty! That is rather well done! Now all you need to do is finish it :p
Are those EM4 nbc troopers? They are fun to paint, what sort of scheme you planning on going for?

Well im considering how far I can push the vault angle, and was looking at the blue with yellow stripes... however I may not do that. (ohh yeah, thems be the eM4 NBC troopers).

I am thinking about getting some of the paramilitary minis they do for the security team, and the guy from the troopers page (0018) about halfway down in the blue fatigues, they would look great in the blue/yellow, plus the actually look like the security guards from 101 (with black bodyarmour).

As for another update (I been a busy boy today), i've gotten the walls on 2 rooms and 4 tunnel sections.... hoping to get a couple more rooms done tonight then polish off the last of my foamcore tomorrow. I'll put in an order for some more in the morning (when I get paid), they do next day delivery as an option for small orders... so hopefully the vault will have ALL of its walls by sunday afternoon (including the cave outside the vault entrance and the aquaduct).

Feel free Mr. Clean, if I minded people filching my ideas I wouldn't put them on here, just watch your fingers while spiltting the foamcore, I have a nice line of cuts running across my finger pads... some quite deep...

If you find what I found, that you have to use the blade on its own to cut deep enough, wrap something around your hands first, don't make the same mistake I did.

Ok, time for another update...

I've run out of foamcore!!! Yikes!! Still the entire first level is done and all bar 2 rooms on the second level is done!!! Yippie!! Ordered some more, should be here tomorrow.. also ordered those vehicles from old crow and paid for those akira-like bikes from evilbay.

I'll post pics when I can get my lazy arse up to actually take some!

the majority is from various worldworks sets, with a few bits I scratch built...

I can't remember where each bit comes from off the top of my head, but the sets I have are:
Red Sector
Mars Station
Streets of Mayhem
Bits of Mayhem
Mayhem Armoury

I think most of the regular firniture came from the armoury set with the consoles from either red sector or mars station... but I actually have a while pile of stuff i've got ready to go in once I paint the rooms.
