Ok part 3 of my image dumping gallore! First we got a strike team of the Association of Carribbean States, who are roaming the former U.S. to salvage what is still valuable and keep the local savages under the boot. ![]() Next we have Generalissimo Corto with his loyal right-hand-guy Capitain du Prince. Both come from the Association of Carribbean States (the mighty empires of Dominica and Haiti, to be precise) but have gone rogue after Generalissimo Corto developed a massive god complex. Similarity's with Marlon Brando's role in Apocalypse now are totally not at all coincidence. The M-20 in my vehicle thread is Corto's ride. Then we have the first batch of LAM loony PA-russkies: ![]() Some day the forces of mighty Russia's new Tsar will cross the frozen Bering Strait and bring ruin to the Americans and avenge those who died in the nuclear holocaust! Or some other lunacy in that vein... Dunno yet, I only knew I had to have a bunch of those guys after jizzing my pants while contemplating the concept of post-apocalyptic drunk cossacks roaming the wasteland! I have many more LAM guys but my camera screwed up most pics, so you'll get more some other time. That leaves us with some odds and ends: A fat Ma for my cannibal family. Mini is a horrorclix with a swapped base and a brown wash. ![]() Then we have a Vaulty chick with guns. After seeing this miniature in vault colors somewhere on this board, I had to steal the idea! ![]() And a new interpretation of the little red riding hood: ![]() I just loved the concept of the mini, so I had to have her. Even comes with a wolf! Edited by Carrakon, Oct 1 2017, 05:11 PM.

Excellent work on the Carribean squad. With that shade of blue, they'd also make good UN peacekeepers. Wow, that vaultie chick brings back memories. I posted one of those minis in vault colours, though like you I was inspired by someone else so can't really claim credit for the idea. Link to an old topic. http://s1.zetaboards.com/Post_Apoc_Wargames/topic/4224045/1/#new Who makes that "Little" Red Riding Hood and her wolf? Love it. |

Great figures. I love the carribean guys. I can see them moving around the coasts in old junks or flying in and out in ancient DC03/DC47s. Nice vaultie and I love Red. |

Yeah that's the one! Thank you for your inspiration! Red riding hood is made by Tale of War. I can't recomment that miniature enough - she's absolutely gorgeous, my paintjob doesn't nearly do her justice!
UN peacekeepers are indeed the inspiration. The only reason I went for this rather obscure international organization instead is that the UN HQ is in New York which caught some nukes during the war, so someone else had to pick up the slack

As with my vehicle collection: The death of my camera didn't mean a stop of progress on the miniature front. First a group shot of my LAM dudes: ![]() Magnificient men and their flying machines (pictured without any flying machines): ![]() The man himself: Max Rockatansky: ![]() After playing too much Fallout: NewVegas, I felt the urge to build my character... Joana the wasteland bounty hunter, wearing reinforced leather armour and wielding Maria and a Hunting Shotgun: ![]() Here I built a miniature of myself for shits 'n giggles: ![]() An operative - might come inhandy as an assassin. ![]() Captain America - Wasteland edition: ![]() I always wanted that mini... Kami of Streetfighter-fame, because why not? ![]() Post-Apoc cop: ![]() ![]() After playing yet again too much Fallout:New Vegas (dead money, to be precise), I also felt the urge to have a couple of these fellas: ![]() What I love about PA settings is their open nature. So after seeing those transparent figures at a retailer for architectural modelling, I figured "why not throw in the supernatural?!" So here we have a wastelander who got trapped by the vengeful spirits of the pre-war world: ![]() I also decided to broaden my setting and basically turn it into the Post-Apoc version of the colonial era with various great powers vying for control over the desolate wastes of Darkest First the natives: ![]() I also built some factions to populate America should the need arise: Fairly generic guys: ![]() Reds - gotta have reds! ![]() Also Fascists - always fun! ![]() Also built a couple of very generic western-style military guys - useful for manning checkpoints or the likes: ![]() And generic riot cops, because who wouldn't wanna game those guys breaking down unrest? ![]() And now for the more special factions: Tsarist Russians: ![]() I deeply dislike tired cliché of Russia turning communist again all the time, so I decided against that - also red makes for boring heraldry! Norks: ![]() I instead opted for the North Koreans to fulfill my Commie needs. Probably the regime best prepared for the Shit hitting the fan, so commies they stay! Germans: ![]() Because the Wehrmacht chique is just sooo damn sexy. Those guys of course aren't Nazis but upstanding West-German Bundesgrenzschutz (Border Guards) who continued to wear the old uniforms well into the 90's. US Remnant forces: ![]() I just had to have those Eureka NBC soldiers. Can't praise them enough, even though they are on the short side in comparisson with other manufacturers. Converting the officer out of a wargames factory survivor probably wasn't the best idea with that in mind... Chinese Nationalists/ Taiwanese: ![]() Have a soft spot for those guys for some reason. Also it gave me the opportunity of plausibly arming modern soldiers with swords! YAY! Japanese: ![]() Because I felt this urge to build Kamikaze guys with bombs strapped to them. The insane warlord inside me finds that profoundly satisfying for some reason... NBC-Russians ![]() Again Eureka and again sooooo wonderful. The remote controlled probe vehicle thingy is a matchbox mars rover. Edited by Carrakon, Oct 1 2017, 05:13 PM.

So instead of working, I got some more guys finishedwhich were sitting on the shelf 99% done and laughing at me. This time I wanted to get away from the "Re-using stuff" look and insted depict a faction which got away from scavenging and built a working - albeit backwards - economy. Perry plastic ACW dudes were my choice for that. Now first is a bunch of Militiamen which I built to populate the table with dumbass goons to shoot in the face: ![]() The problem here is that they show the historical miniatures, which is hard to avoid - especially with the little effort I wanted to spend on those throwaway henchmen. Next are the veterans. Here it worked better imho as I gave them modern weaponry. ![]() The ACw caps obviously still give it away, but I just dig that style - making them non-negotiable. And I also finally built Cavalry: ![]() Dismounted: ![]() I went light on the conversions as I had to build every guy twice (mounted and dismounted). A Captain: ![]() Dismounted: ![]() And the General: ![]() Dismounted: ![]() After finishing them I'm not too happy with them, except for the Officers as they show their original ACW period too much - something I wanted to rectify with the paintjob, which didn't work too well. I probably should have given all of them gasmasks but opted against that as I wanted to depict a new working state, not some toxic hellhole. The problem is that the troops of a state barely scraping by on a primitive cottage industry probably would look a lot like that... quite a conundrum and I'm curious what you guys think. They look good, but you're right they don't really look PA. How about adding a few bits of modern garb? Maybe a bright orange back pack and an assault rifle or two? |

The idea behind the faction is precisely not re-using stuff but instead making everything themselves - thus no shiny bright pre-war stuff. Basically hardcore autarky nutjobs. |

Great balls of fire! That certainly is a mass of good looking miniatures. The Civil War figures could definitely due double duty in a GASLIGHT era game. Kudos on the work. |
