I was inspired by Mattblackgod's and Friendly Panda's chemical, bubble type terrain and threw these together in the last week.![]() I added floating bubbles coming out of the pools because I thought it would look good....... ![]() ![]() Now I just need to get a game together and use em'. I'm also workin' on a rip off version of Mattblackgod's corridor terrain. Brian Edited by Mr. Clean, May 18 2010, 03:33 PM.

Looks pretty darned good! Adding floating bubbles just because you "thought it looked good" is the best reason for adding them. |

Great stuff - very nice. You dont want to be around when those bubbles pop! Maybe you could make one or two free standing bubbles so they can be blown along in the wind? That would make a for a nasty surprise on the battlefield. Yeah - lets see how your tunnels are coming on!

Yeah, free standing bubbles sound like a great idea! Rather like 40K spore mines! |

I have a mental image now of a load of fighters scattering in all directions as a bubble drifts towards them!

These gave me a great idea for where lighter than air gases could come from for PA zepplins and dirgibles! I now have visions of people waiting with nets, trying to capture the bubbles as they come off (assuming the outer skins are fairly tough!) |

Free floatin' bubbles are in the works,I do like that idea. This saturday I have a painting night planed with my 7 year old and 4 1/2 year old while the mama goes to the Roller Derby with friends, perhaps I can get some work done on the free floatin' bubbles then. Game wise they could pop with the effect of napalm or howabout when they pop a swarm of mutant spiders are unleased. The options are endless..................... As for the tunnel terrain I'm still in the planin' stages. It will be based on 1/2 inch thick MDF for weight and stability and the walls will be Foamcore. The weight of the base is a must for me as I have one guy I game with that is a total clutz and the tunnels would get knocked around a bit,and I have made the mistake of light weight bases before. I'm also workin' on a way to incoporate stairs and different levels into the whole board by usein' 1/2 inch MDF and Pink Foam as steps for the bases.Imagine the ladders on Mattblackgod's tunnels could go somewhere! One other problem is that all of this MUST be made with materials I already have as I have been out of work for 5 months now. And off the subject, I wonder why it seems like it's harder for you guys across the pond to get Foamcore? Brian |

v_lazy_dragon,THAT MY FRIEND IS A KICK ASS IDEA! WOW! NO REALLY FRICKIN' WOW! Fights for the bubble fields! Mutant sky pirates! Catching bubbles with nets(don't pop em' they will mess you up)for lighter than air rides! Just like fightin' over gasoline! Road Warrior in the skys! What's that you say? Oh yea, the tunnel terrain.Yes,I remember that and the PA pizza delivery cars, crashed airliner, giant mound of rubble with bunker on top, gas station, police station, suburban homes................................................... Mr Clean, dogmrian posted awhile back a small BatRep that evolved around a Sky Barge... Wonder why he hasn't used it again in his BatReps? tinker |

Green Gas... Anyone read "Boneshaker" by Cherie Priest? Steampunk with zombies. Very nice terrain, btw. Between this and MBG's tunnels, I'm inspired to carve out time for several new pieces myself. |

Oh they do go to places.....other tunnels, rooms and more scarily....the ruins above. I chose all foam board because its easy to use and I need a band saw to chop up MDF into the useable sections. Xander loving the lighter than air gas idea. I can see gas balls with baskets under them. Another use would be explosive gas that "herders" could gather and place into a sealed container and pop them - giving a supply of gas for powering generators or vehicles.
Mr Clean, my list of half finished bits sounds about the same. PA Pizza delivery? Have you a menu? Do they have Rat? Do they delivery this far into the wastelands? |

Mattblackgod-I'm 99.9% sure that you were not offended by my ladders going somewhere comment,I was just usein' your tunnel terrain as an example for my plans to make my tunnels multi-level.I AM a paranoid freek, also hate and love communicating on line because you never can tell for sure how someone will take a comment. After reading what I posted again I could see how someone could get pissed-off. If I did offend you, sorry. I did get some work done on my tunnel terrain yesterday, the bases are cut and one room and one hall have walls.I must plan this out carefully because i't would be easy to mess up where doors go and how all the pieces interact with each other. Also started a little work and planin' for some bubble lighter than air vehicles. This project is going to be fun! No Rat-on-a-Stick on the menu yet.But we do have Cat-on-a-Stick!YUM! Mr. Clean, I seriously doubt that Danny would have been offended by that comment, hes got fairly thick skin, and it takes quite a bit to really offend on here... one of the reasons I like it so much here, you can banter without fear of getting flamed for every joke... |

Mal-That's what I figured.Every one here seems like the kind of people I would invite to my house for a game. There doesn't seem to be the cryin' ,arguein' and other B.S. you find on other forums. Tinker-I looked for that Bat-Rep by Dogmrian but could'nt find it,I'll have another look later when I'm not postin' from a PSP. Oh!Another thing I like about this place is that no one complains about my crap spellin' and punctuation! Brian |
