I am in love with the wide tunnel camp and the bio hazard pit piece.

... Not to mention keeping the dust off.
WHAT!?!? You're letting all that natural weathering material go to waste?!

Well, when I get paid on Friday, I'll be ordering up some black foamboard to start my tunnel project. If finances allow , I may also order some interior bits and bobs from ainsty to supplement my already sizable pile of scenery bits gathered from years of me and my dad both building stuff (he actually built architctural models professionally and taught me a lot of my his tricks).

If finances are a problem mate, use white foamcore and spray it... its about half the price of black.

I can get 10 sheets of 16"x20" black foamboard from FoamBoardSource.com for $19.43 plus $12.86 shipping. They gouge on the shipping, but even so, that still comes out to about $3.25 per sheet.

There is that... but the white foam board (in that size) would cost me £1.65 per sheet (inc postage), so with conversion thats a little over $2...

All im saying mate is the black foamboard is more expensive, so take a look at how much your going to use and consider using white to save a little money... you never know you may be able to save enough to buy a few more minis!!

Other than the color, is there any difference between the two?

A quick suggestion if you have a RC modelling shop nearby look for depron, it's basically foamboard but without the paper.. It's used to make model aircraft and you can get it in many thickness and from what I have been told by my grandfather large sheets are very cheap!

Sky the colour and price is the only difference between them, they are made of the same materials and have the same load capacity...

...you never know you may be able to save enough to buy a few more minis!!

I have a mountain of minis to paint as it is. The only reason finances are an issue is because I have to get paid before I spend any more money on my hobby. My bank account is at 0 until I get paid. Damn kids insist on being fed for some reason...

And the cost difference between the white and black is $2.86 for the same amount of foamboard from the same supplier.

Good tip Ollie. Thanks.

Cheers - I am getting some resin furniture to fill out the rooms a bit. I then hope to make some other stuff from odds and ends.

Looking at other Digitarii and Mal's work I am tempted to make some more rooms. I am thinking of ripping off some of their ideas, plus I have a special room or two to try making. I have to resist the urge to make more tunnels as more oddball ideas have surfaced. :D

Making tunnel complexes is a illness I tell you....and by the looks of it...it is catching! :D

So I went over to Michaels to price out white foamboard and I was able to pick up 20x30 sheets for 2.99 apiece, less 40 percent thanks to the michaels weekly coupons. I picked up 5 sheets at 1.79 apiece. I'll probably go pick up some more tomorrow, along with some mod podge (PVA) and some apple barrel black to mix up some textured paint for sealing the foamboard. The tunnels await!

Cool - I look forward to seeing your tunnels! (ooh-err!).

I got the Copplestone Medical Examination room, science lab and Hi-tech research lab set. All seem nicely cast. I look forward to painting them up. I may go looking for some other bits and bobs too before I launch into a painting frenzy.

The other tunnel models people are making is leaving me with the urge to make more character rooms. However I dont think they will fit into the storage box! lol!

Thanks for the comments. I kept them as modular as possible so I can add other terrain bits to them. For the shanty I added bits from my above ground collection. It was inspired by the shanties in the stations from the metro233 game. :D

The problem is now others are building great tunnels I am filled with ideas for more character rooms! I feel another tunnel making spree starting. :D I also have lots of resin to paint to add some character to certain rooms. Again they wont be fixed as I like to reuse my terrain in other configurations.
