@ BT - Thanks. Actually this project is a great way to empty out the huge piles of junk I have been hoarding for eternity. With a bit of luck there will be some room in the Bits Box of Doooooooom for me to fill up with other assorted junk asap! :D

As far as junk goes, to my wife's delight I completed a bits and bobs project last weekend... Throwing out a few tons of cardboard and empty sprues among other other "promising" scratchbuilding materials. I was able to reorganize my Rat's Nest and shuffle around some of the better junk bits and bob's until the next time she threatens to clean my office for me!!

The other thing you could do with the lockers is to make a small frame stand for them, like you see in a lot of sports locker rooms, that will raise them a little at the same time of not having them floating... just a thought..

I like the collapsed tunnel alot. How about a few piles of rubble as tall and wide as the hallway to represent new caveins? That would be super cool!Keep postin' so I can rip this off thoroughly and make it MINE!ALL MINE! :excited:

Thanks for the feedback. In hind sight i wish i had gone the route of Matt with the foam board instead of casting everything. The hurst stuff is nice but you have to cast each individual piece and its very time comsuming. Live and learn i guess. I think Matts approach by adding a few key pieces to the walls goes a long way to convey the look and feel of tunnels/corridors. If i get more done ill post soon.

Both approaches are good, each with their own strengths and weaknesses, but to be completly honest, im not overly fond of the overly detailed, futuristic tunnels, I personally think Dannys approach of 'less is more' works really well...

Im giving very serious consideration to building a set of my own, unfortunately I only have 1 pack of 5mm foam core left... I need to find a new supplier before I can get anywhere...

Thanks for comments and ideas guys. I like the portable cave in idea. I will be pinching that.

Foamboard - I got mine in Staples stationary superstore - £10 for 5 A3 sized pieces. Most largeish towns should have one or something similar. The other place I pick it up (and often cheaper) is local art supply stores.

I've got a staples a couploe of towns over, but they don't stock foam core per norm... I suppose I could ask if they could get some in I suppose....

Strange. Its in the (extremely limited) Arts/crafts section. They even have black foamboard.

Mal IIRC staples also has a mail order catalogue, so you could try ordering through there? (may even be able to do some sort of 'in store cllection' if the postage looks a bit on the high side?)

I get the black foamboard from walmart here in the states, so far its the best that I've used. Dunno why, but the black foam and paper doesn't tear up as bad. The local dollar tree ( pound store etc?) actually has white foam board but its really shitty, the card sandwich is more like thin paper..

Try a Micheals or other arts and craft stores. They have a variety of foam boards for this type work.
