As a huge fan of World Works Games, I just had to share their latest release with y'all. Streets of Legend is the first of their contemporary releases utilising the new TerrainLinx system. This is essentially Streets of Mayhem but upgraded to make it TLX compatible. What makes this set so cool and of great interest to viewers of this forum is that the game tiles come in three flavours - clean, dirty and apocalyptic. Just check out this promo photo -

Awesome, huh? The possibilities are just mind-blowing. I, for one, am a very happy bunny!

With there great pricing, ideas and ability to print stuff till the ink fumes ruin your brain, they are a great deal all around.

There is so much WWG stuff I still want and need to do. I have to resolve that issue with the foam board warping down here.

Veloci, these TLX tiles might work better for you. Being just 6" by 6" they are smaller than the previous Streets of Mayhem tiles, so perhaps, being smaller they might not warp so much. Plus, the way they fit together ought to make them warp-proof, at least in theory anyway. Never having had to suffer from humidity problems (it's too cold where I live) I dunno what to suggest but I feel your pain.

Bryan, But the big question is if I am smart enough to build these TLX thingies. I was already looking at the fantasy stuff before but always chickened out because it looked a bit daunting. Have you already picked up the new streets TLX?
If so, how hard does it look to build.
I also noticed they have reworked the armory system to be modular, that looks very cool too.

Fanboy that I am, I bought Streets of Legends and the the new Mayhem Armoury as soon as they were released.

How hard are they to build? I've made a couple of test pieces from the fantasy sets and they are a lot more fiddly to build than the old style stuff. The TLX system is designed to be modular. One of its major strengths is that you can build sets as big or as small as you want and when finished, take it pieces to store away. For myself, I prefer buildings that are permanent. Once built, I don't want to dismantle it. That's not to say that you can't make permanent buildings or sets with the TLX system. You can. I really need to experiment more with these new sets. Unfortunately, I've just started my biggest project to date, making the Mayhem police station, which is one of the older pre-TLX models. That'll keep me busy for at least three months, possibly more.

At present I have mixed feelings about the TLX system. No question that it is the way forward for WWG and it is even better value for money than the older sets. On the downside, I can see models taking a lot longer to make. Plus, there is that worrying question about how my current buildings and models will fit in. No doubt they will and I'm probably worrying unnecessarily.

What I particularly like about the new Armoury set is that they've added a firing range to it. That's so cool! As for Streets, the coolest thing about them is the three flavours they come in as I mentioned in my intro to this thread. Quite simply, I wish there were more hours in the day!

I think I'm with you on the more permanent structures. I think before doing anything else, I will also work on the police station but I will make mine into a hospital instead. I need a hospital/research facility really bad for both ATZ and my sci-fi stuff. While it won't be as nice as yours, it will be serviceable enough. My plan is to go for uber large size again like I did on the warehouse, but even bigger this time. I really like the large buildings.

Big is good, Willy! I like big buildings as well. However, knowing how much work is involved and how long I'll have to work on it, I really need to psyche myself up to start it. Fortunately, I'm fully psyched up for my police station and just so full of enthusiasm for the project. I hope it lasts!

All the best on your hospital, Willy. I hope you get your warping problem resolved otherwise you're looking at a major heartache.

Thanks Bryan. I am really torn about this. The one commodity I don't have is extra time as I am barely getting things done as it is. It is so freakish that I am spending most of my goof off time actually gaming for a change instead of building stuff.
I have been dieing to resume work on my Hirst Arts stuff for the past several months but the kids keep me hopping. Those are my favorite buildings of all time, hands down, but they require some concentration.
