I finally managed to order some casting supplies and decided to have a go at casting a partial copy of the small corner bit i recently built. Went with a "slush" cast technique. First test piece, learned a bit form it. ![]() ![]() ![]()

I went with smooth-on brand products. for simplicity I also used products that are a simple 1:1 by volume mix smoothcast 321 urithane resin for the "shell" foam-it 10 rigid polyurithane foam for the guts. the espanding foam interior was a lot damned harder than i was expecting. and it actually holds a cut fairly well. The main mistakes I made on this go was that the foam expands up not out, so there is a small bit on one side that I had to fill with putty after taking a hacksaw to the big mushroom of extra foam on the bottom. Over all I am pleased with how it came out considering it was not really intended to be built as a molded piece. |

not a resin cast one. I cast 2 of them then wasted the rest of my resin on warlands markers and bootleg GW bits. haha matter of fact the last cast i did is still sitting in the mold on a shelf. |

I had thought about trying to build up and cast a bunch of stuff to sell on ebay but in the end I got quite lazy. If/when I order some more resin I might cast up a few if anyone wants one at that time. |

Nice cast. clear pictures. Will look good when painted. Minor faults are no problem as. They may even add to the PA feel. thanks for posting. Casting is great for making tunnel sections, vault doors etc... |
