I have finally manages to get the camera on my phone working again.... bloody technology never works right... Anyhew, I have almost finished the nomad gang I was working on (I have decided to change these slighty, they are now ex-police nomads, im giving them the interceptors) and im making decent headway on the biker gang also.. still looking for a suitable big rig for the 3rd gang so they will follow at a later date. Right enough of my jabber, you want pics... and here they are!! (p.s. sorry about the horrible glare, its the flash... i'll get some better pics taken tomorrow during daylight hours.... if im awake  )   And the bikers...     You probally can't see it on that pic, but I painted on the licence plate on the back... bloody fiddly work but it looks great. |

Nice work. I can place most of the Em-4 figs, but not the guy in the middle of the first shot. The chopper is class, but i can't read the liscence plate, where did you get it?  Can you turn the flash off and shine a desk lamp on the mini's with some white A4 behind? |

The guy in the middle of the first shot is also em4... I get most of my infantry there. I took some more pics including the couple of minis I was working on last night...        A coupls of the pictures are a little out of focus, sorry for that (im a crappy camera man at the best of times), but at least the lisence plate is actually visable now... Yup, it is, I broght the 10 pack of choppers... although my only gripe is the minis are very different from the picture on the website and the extended front wheel variant requires some modification to stop the wheel from being half an inch in the ground... but once built, they look really good... and paint up very easily. All in all im actually very happy about how that bike came out... im probally going to do detail work on the tank of each chopper (only 4 to start with but I may run games with more later, or use the others without riders for terrain)... im probally going to hate myself forpainting thelisence plate on this one though, now I will have to do a plate on all of them... and painting letters at 1mm scale is a tad tricky.... Like the photos of the gang! The chopper is sharp, but might need a lit'l bit of mud and rust! And I'll save the same as the crowd, I like the paint scheme. |

yeah I may muddy up the bike a bit... but the back story for the biker gang is that they still have their little town out in the sticks so they will likely have the resources still to keep their bikes clean... even if the same cannot be said for themselves. Still if nothing else i'll probally add some road dust.. The general back story to my PA world is a man made disaster, not sure if im going to do nucelar, viral or something completly whacky... but only those who were far enough away from major population centres will have survived so small desert towns and the like will still be about.. The ex police im having as nomads because there are no centres of government anymore, and as such the only laws are those you can enforce at the end of a sawn-off. So no government, no laws, then no police, and we all know how friendly people can be towards the police at the best of times... so they hit the road (probally a good idea really). Anyhew, I got the last 2 members of the nomads finished today, a rookie and an ex swat officer.. now I just need to get the 2 interceptors finished off and that'll be the first gang ready for the table top... I have 3 more bikers on foot to finish and 3 more bikes then the 4 riders to do for the second gang... im hoping I can get them finished in the next week and a bit... then I can start looking at the 3rd gang, the ex government/special forces with the big rig... im also considering doing a 4th larger gang of civies but i'll probally just pick up a couple dozen and sprinkle them into various games... and once thats all said and done, I need to replace my zeds... I have a couple hundred but they are all 25mm and everything else I have is true 28mm... they are similar height but look just a little too small... I suppose I could get away with it by saying they are only skin and bones left... but i'd rather have true 28mm zeds... Edited by Mal, Jan 23 2010, 10:28 PM.

Interesting background and plans. How about some sort of apocalypse that makes many of the survivors hate the authorities? Maybe the testing of a new weapon that goes wrong? Or maybe it is revealed that the government released the Zed virus? |

If you're after true 28mm zeds, Cold War have a big and varied range (including zombified Elvis) that fit well with EM4. They're on the skinny side, but they're zeds so that doesn't really matter and they've got a lot of personality. http://www.cold-war.co.uk/ |

I did see one tank with a Welsh Flag on it in a similar fashion to the Captn America in a Stereophonics video years ago. Half Green, Half white (horizon line) with a red dragon. You could call the rider "Mad Dai" Or if you want to stick to flags - a union jack or confederate flag would look cool (these are always popular designs). One of my favorites is the simple matt black paint job (  ). Put a radiation symbol on the tank and you are good to go. I did see a bike done in diagonal black and yellow hazard stripes once. Another was white on one side of the bike and black on the other. How about a plain colour? Or a simple colour with a skull is another popular favourite. Wolves, Reapers and naked ladies are also regular tank decoration. At least these are the things I have seen from hanging around the UK custom bike scene. |

Heh, thanks for the ideas... although having hand painted the flags for my dark ages viking army (including a black flag with a gold dragon) I don't think i'll be upto painting a detailed dragon to such a small scale (about 2mm), I may try and paint an impression of a dragon but I don't know howwell that will come out.... but then I really want to stick to the american theme so mabey a confed flag as they are easy enough, but still left with 2 more tanks... the hazard stripes and the rad symbol are good ideas but again not really in the emerican chopper theme... perhaps I could do an OCC logo on one of the bikes? naked ladies, reapers and wolves would also come under the category of me being a lazy bastard and not wanting to paint such small detail on the tank so to recap... 3 tanks... confed flag, and occ logo for 2... ideas for the 3rd? |
