Holy hell I actually managed to finish something! this is jsut a small piece i did in a couple hours while listening to some OTR.

the walls are done using that same brick line method i used in my other pieces with the tops cut to look like cinder block like. the corner bit is a cut down used up elmers craft glue stick with facial tissue paper shoved inside and covered in white/pva glue. the strips along the bottom and the inside floor are foamcore with the paper bits peeled off.

Looks good!

Maybe a bit too clean for a ruin but still very nice :(|party:

Dunno about it being too clean; I mean... If it's situated out in the windswept deserts, then there wouldn't be much muck about it, would there?

... Of course, tumbleweeds do get around out in those parts.

Looking good none the less!

EDIT: What did you use for the base of the terrain piece?

yeah it is a little clean. I plan on 3d modeling and then having 3d printed a lot of small bits like small rubble, coolers, crates, barrels, mailboxes, foot lockers furniture etc. then cast them up and eventually have them all individually based on thin card to clutter things up.

the piece is based on a CD

Sounds a cool project. I look forward to seeing it.

I was thinking of a little drybrushing to dirty it up with the dirt and dust from ruination.

Thats not a bad idea, sadly when I try to do things like that I fall flat on my face and it usually ends up looking like I smeared poo all over it. I'll give it a go and see how it turns out.

Some fence/wall pieces I've done over the last couple of days. Including my first attempt at some free hand signwork.
I'm still trying to wrap my head around making an "inside out" corner.

And in a pinch they can be used for a dungeon crawl type of setups

That's great looking scenery, I like the dry dusty style. Love that sign.

God damn that is some great terrain! At least it isn't as clean as my stuff. It's really beautiful and makes me very envious. :)

I just finished one of those popular O scale plasticville hobo jungle buildings

I built up the shell and then cut and glued a bunch of cut down craft sticks and other random stuff to the inside walls, then glued it to a cd for a base and layed down some sand sticks, and torn toilet paper and facial tissue for different simulated "carpet" textures. also added a simple doard to the back window cover since it looked like it was sagging to one side for no reason with out one.

looking good, I have been giving some serious though to making a few 'shanty shacks' using wooden coffee stirers, but the ones we get over here are big enough to be ice pop sticks...

Cut 'em down to size Mal, or use Bass wood...

The ones I use often, come looking like over sized toothpicks almost. craft picks same exact pack but I buy them locally.
