Here are a group of trees that i finished from the WIP thread. So so easy to make. Take wire of different lengths, i used old fuse wire because it's easy to twist. The longer pieces will be the branches and just twist them all together. Mix up PVA and plaster of paris and glop it onto the wire to take away the obvious wire look. Then paint, dry brush and stick sponge flock on with super glue. You don't have to use super glue, i'm just impatient.![]() I'll do some more, but i plan to make them old and gnarly. So i'll use more wire per tree and leave the sponge flock out. |

Another step you can take is to wrap the trunk in PVA-soaked tissue paper, although I'm not sure if you can then put plaster on top of that... |

I think if you use the cheaper fuse wire like i did you should have no trouble twisting the wire into trunks. I'm really excited about making some spooky trees with this technique. PVA and tissue paper sounds like a great idea. The plaster of paris gives the fuse wire a bit of rigidity though which it needs. |

I'd suggest sticking with plaster of paris. It'll be more expensive but will withstand the rigors of gaming so much more. I use a very similar method but at about a 6th the size of these for my 6mm gaming. Don't even have to worry about coating the wire. Looks great in large forests. |
