Why is it, when I order 2 similar items, one from the US, and one from the UK, I'm nearly always disappointed by the one from the US? Last week I ordered some 25mm heads from RLBPS in the US and some from Bicorne in the UK. So far all my spare heads had been 28mm & 28mm heroic, so these would let me do some conversions with my smaller minis. The RLBPS heads were from their Jungle Rot, vietnam era range. I ordered heads with bandanas, bare heads, bare afro-american heads, us heads w/ boonie hats, and bare vc/nva heads. They are true 25mm heads. The bandana heads and vc/nva heads were pretty nice. Especially the vc/nva. They'll allow me to add some asians to my mostly white mini collection. The heads w/ boonie hats were OK. About the quality level I expected from an older range and a small company. I like those from Gripping Beast better, but no complaints. The bare heads and bare afro american heads were the real disappointment. First off, both sets were the same sculpt. Rather poor quality and no real hint that there's an afro american in the bunch. The Bicorne heads were from their Firing Line ACW & Western Gunfighters ranges. I ordered "Coloured" heads w/ no head gear, heads w/ kepi, bowler hats, goatee, and eye patch. These turned out to be large 25mm or possibly true 28mm. Close to Gripping Beast. The bowler hats are very nice, but with a firmly wild west look. I thought it would be funny to have a post apoc guy running around in a bowler hat. Might look weird, but I'm still going to do it. The goatee and eye patch heads are pretty nice too. Though, again, the facial hair betrays their origins. The kepis are decent. I thought I could easliy reshape them into ball caps. This will work with some, others have decidedly ACW facial hair. I think I'll use them for some New Confederacy redneck gangers. The "Coloured" heads (their description, not mine) were the weakest of the sets, but the facial features and hair texture is clearly african in origin. Again, some much needed diversity for my gaming table. If requested, I can try to take pics, but photography isn't my strong suit, but then neither is painting, converting, or GSing.  I also ordered some of the newer Gripping Beast heads, but they haven't arrived yet. I know I can count on Gripping Beast, so I'm really looking forward to those. |

That sucks mate, you can them on DVD quite cheaply (I got my series for £5, new!). I would recommend that you watch the Serenity movie as it covers the same universe and setting, and better than wasting hours watching an entire series you might not like. Better that Starwars or Star Trek IMO. Plenty of frontier worlds with that nitty gritty nearly post apoc look. Its a setting I will game one day. Maybe you can download them? |

It is indeed.. And very lethal in game(I hope) I have it on it's base now so I'll upload another pic as theone I posted doesn't look that great.. Probably one of my favourite Westwind sculpts.. Hmmm now I just need a were-tiger |
