Got these Warmachine minis in the post today (after buying them from a friend on eBay about 8 weeks ago...grr...) and I absolutely love them! They're going to be a band of scrappers, cranking out scrap vehicles from a local junkyard, as well as ambushing gangs for their rides :) I've chopped the gobber's face off, he's going to have a bandana to turn him into a sort of feral kid (yeh, been watching Mad Max 2 again!) that helps out the mechanic :) I love the female leader (mint sculpt!) and the guy with the blunderbus and random hat!

Nice looking stuff Deserter! I'm really looking forward to seeing how you get these fellows painted!

I had some nice shiney's arrived this morning - 12 Mongrel Minis congo Mercs:

Here's a size comp picture... These Mongrel figures seem a bit bigger than usual, and are a better size match with TAG figures than Mongrel figures usually are:

(TAG Merc, Mongrel merc, BI merc, Mongrel Minis Syrians)

I also got a box of scenery from black cat bases - 7 African Shanties, 4 market stalls & some barricades.
Here are some pics of the Barricades:

And the rest of the resin in a box...

Those Warmachine minis are cool, I keep eyeing them up as random wastelanders.

Nice buys Xander. I love those shanties.

My recent buys are from EM4...

I am starting to collect for my Loco Island stuff....

A couple of men suits, one for the MIB faction and the other as a Mini Xander evil personality.

(I also bagged a couple of 1/43 VW beetles from evilbay but I suspect they look too big)

For the Stalker pile....

A couple of Troopers with no hats, these will get the hood and face mask modification. These will either be from the Loners, Freedom Clan or Mercs. Not sure yet.

One Trooper in a Hazmat suit as Monolith needs a body or two.

For the Cult of the Purple Helmet....

2 hairy pot bellied bikers for Dawgie and Tinker
A biker chick for the cigar smoking tranny Dawgie wants to see.
A Barbarian with a 2 handed axe for the mini Xander.

I still need a mini for me and KFC.

PLEASE a photo would be nice!

"only" waist high! hells belles' man, something that looks like that that is larger than a tick, would make this ole dawgie go brown pants unless i was safely inside a sealed AFV with plenty of fuel, and ammo for its weaponry!

even in my RLTW (run like the wind) days with danglies the size of grape fruits (that i could toss over my shoulder, so i could run like the wind), this ole dawgie would have to be chunked out of said AFV to confront one of those things up close and personal!

DAWGIE, who truly loathes large bugs . . . especially large bugs that can bite, pinch, claw, or sting . . .

Since diving head first into ATZ here's what I've tried so far and what I think about em.

Cold War Zeds were my first purchase. I went nuts and got the entire set. The castings are a little skinny and not totally top shelf, but they are very nice and I have not found any better source for Zeds yet. Studio Miniatures looks great and are on the agenda but I have not bought any yet. Doing business was a breeze, very prompt service.

My next go was with Copplestone. I absolutely love these figs. They are nice and heavy, I love the bases, and the casting quality is tip top. And to top things off there is such a nice selection. Mark has been excellent with his customer service and I have found no down sides to the Copplestone experience whatsoever.

My latest go was with Hasslefree. These are also very nice castings, and in some cases exceptional sculpts. The only negative I have found with Hasslefree is that their scale is a little bit out of control. There are some very significant differences in sizes between some of the figures. For my part this does not really bug me much as I am not overly picky but I can see where it might drive some guys nuts. Their service is also very nice.

I would/will purchase from all three of these companies again. If I had to rate them, I'd have to say Copplestone is my first pick but both Cold Wars and Hasslefree are still great sources.
I am very anxious to try out Studio Miniatures as I think they will be top notch. I'll post when I find out for sure.

And that's my report for the moment! I always like to put in my two cents on figs because I really like to hear from others about their experiences. It really can help with buying decisions and some of this stuff is quite pricey these days, it's nice to know what to expect.

GOOD MORNING ALL (MY TIME)!

FIRST, exactly who are those WARMACHINE minis? they look perfect for DAWGIE's growing pile of replacement PA leads! if you know who they are i can break down and buy some from the WARSTORE or FRP GAMES.

the second block of DARK AGES leads dropped into the LZ FRIDAY, and i have already assembled, based, primed them, and assigned their place in the painting line (i am still working on HTMG gothic horror stuff from WW; the balkan village mob is almost completed, then i am off to do the witch hunters, werewolf hunters w/hounds, and witches coven). . .

what arrive (thanks to my nephews hopping on my lead XMAS wish list) is listed below. it is all beautiful stuff, but norma sized folks wander about from 28-mm to about 35-mm in height, with most of it being 30-mm tall. sculpting is beautiful, posing is very nice, and these leads do scream end of the world gangers or FIRE FLY reavers at the top of their lungs.

to date, here is what i have been given by my nephews;

1. DAG1018; FORSAKEN HANIEL (2 different leads)

2. DAG1022; FORSAKEN NATHANIEL (1 lead)

3. DA1024; FORSAKEN SHADE (2 different leads)

4. DA1030; FORSAKEN FLENSE (2 different leads)

5. DA1040; FORESAKEN JUNKERS (2 different leads)

6. DA1041; HANIEL #2 (2 different leads)

7. DA1002; FORSAKEN REAVER (1 lead)

8. DA1010; FORSAKEN WEAPONSMITH (1 lead)

9. DA1013; FORSAKEN BANGER (1 lead)

10. DA1014; FORSAKEN HUNTRESS (1 lead)

11. DA1027; FORSAKEN CLERGY ANN (2 different leads)

12. DA1028; FORSAKEN CONTRADICTION (1 lead) *

13. DA1031; FORSAKEN BLADES (1 lead) *

14. DA1033; FORSAKEN LUCKY (1 lead)

15. DA1039; FORSAKEN DEATHSTRYKE (1 lead w/2 different heads)

16. DA3020 SKARRD FETISH BEARER (1 lead)

* INDICATES leads in the 32-mm through 35-mm tall range: these leads all are "normal size humans". *

sorry, no photos, but it is possible to go to the DARK AGES e-store, and see what they look like.

Some great sounding stuff guys - v_lazy_dragon, you reminded me of the awesome potential of the Black Cats Bases stuff, I've had them bookmarked for ages. My mum was asking if there were any other bits and pieces I wanted for Christmas, so now I have the fly-tipping pile and these on the way:

Two of these for £2

And two of these for £2 :)

I also put an order in with Copplestone Castings for:

To round out my Scavenger gang...

And these, which are another Christmas gift from my mum :)

Dawgie - the Warmachine minis are Sam McHorne and the Devil Dogs, a Mercenary unit of Steamjack Wreckers:

I also have the Cygnar Mechanic and Gobber helper up there.

The last few bits that I picked up with some of the money of my sales:
Empress Assaultos (Mafrobian Police)

I've also been considering multiple basing (Matakishi style), so I thought I'd try some bases with penny slots. Available from S and S models:

Ohh that yellow car chassis is the 'mini-motor' I got, its smaller then the advertised 1:48 scale, but as you can see im extending it so its at least usable.

I discovered Spirit gmes (in the UK) still had some of the Old 'Stone Circle Games' China town range, and I decided to put an order in. It was a bit closer to my previous epic orders than I'd like - but as far as I know it is the only place in the UK where these figures were still available... And having seen the replacement killers recently, I was so tempted to add some Hong-Kong cinema elements to my Mulp games... (I've identified which packs the figures are from, as there doen't appear to be any other listing/description/pictures anywhere else online anymore)
I also picked up a set of Alpha Forge 'Rural Survivors' which are also destined for a life of Mulpish gaming.
