We are currently at 17.5%. So its not much, but enough to make you feel it. Fuel will go up too, which means less spare in my pocket, and that everything else will increase too. Somehow our wonderful politicians seem to be oblivious to the fact that every time the fuel prices rise so does inflation. Even the Bank of England keeps telling them that it will happen. Do they listen? Do they hell because they get paid nice fat salaries with everything you can think of added as a expense. Our Government too likes to waste money on pointless research. Then we wonder why we are debt. I do find it odd how we are all up to our necks in it and yet they can find cash to give loans to Ireland and donate billions to help the developing world. |

More of a shipping related question than anything, is the VAT essentially a sales tax? Err.. example.. Here in Alabama, the s.t. is 10%. (The standard is 7%.. bloody rednecks...) So, I buy something marked $12.50usd, and pay $13.75 after tax. So, what I'm trying to get at with that convulted and poorly thought-out example is would any purchase from the UK have a 20% charge on top of the base price? Would that apply to shipping as well? .. Damn my ignorance of foreign economic standards.

Nice Additions. Hey Dicehead - good to see you back, how it going? Dimitri - it is a sales tax. I am not sure but I think Postage is excluded. |

Alright, thanks for the clarification Danny! ![]() Kind of kills my plans for making UK orders, though. 20%. Seriously? I thought 10% was outrageous. |

Dimitri- IIRC VAT is only charged on orders shipped withing the UK and the European Union. As far as I know if you are in the US and place and order they don't charge you the VAT fee, though I may be wrong.

In theory, the VAT shouldn't be charged to US buyers. Most sites list the price with VAT factored in and deduct it when you put in your US shipping destination. A few list the base price and add the VAT at check out if applicable (though I think legally, they are supposed to list the price +VAT). Be cautious, though. There are some sites, like Mantic Games, that list the price with VAT, but do not deduct it for US residents. |

finished my eM4 Minis last week during a break from Fallout New Vegas. Just picked up soem more Reaper Pro Paints and some Gale Force 9 Green Stuff, along with one lone little Reaper Chronoscope mini, the Chupacabra. Will be using the Chupacabra for both the ATZ Scenario Giving up the Goat and as a Stalker (my campaigns version of the Resident Evil Hunters). If you havent looked at the Chupacabra you actually get two "figures), the Chupacabra itself and the corpse of a goat. |

Hadn't really considered getting the Chupacabra mini, but it might be worth it just for the goat. |

After seeing clanmac's "Scavenger Bots" over on LAF, I decided I absolutely MUST have some for my Mechapocalypse project. I've been trying to kitbash something similar but the result is always too big. Anyways... dropped $35 at the GZG on-line shop and now the wait begins. Coming from AU and it being the holiday season, I'm not expecting them to arrive any time soon. Oh well.... its not like I don't have enough to do already. |
