OR maybe these suckers were scooped up by one of those random appearing inter dimensional time warps that are reported to be caused by the weaponry used in the last war . . . caught in an overnight down pour, with thunder and lightning worse than any man has ever experienced before, their outpost encampment is swept from a battlefield of 19th century EUROPE, to the completely alien wastelands of the post apocalyptic wastelands. . . . Nice Idea Dawgie, Nice Idea Dawgie, Nice Idea Dawgie, They wouldnt face half the problems your modern survivor would as their bodies would be used to food with germs or improperly cooked and they would have lots of skills that are lost today. I just hope they cotton on to the damage that SMG's and Assault rifles can dish out early. |

OOOOOOH, NIIIIIIIIICCCCCE !!!!! HOW do these compare in size, detail, etc, with BTD, BAM, and ARTIZAN WW II soldiers? my WW II combat infantry collection is made up of AMERICANS straight legs (1944 -1945), paras (1944-1945), BRIT straight legs (1944 -1945), GERMAN HEER landsers (1940-1945), and LUFTWAFFE feldjagers (1944-1945) . . . about a TO/E platoon of each. someday i will have a platoon of RUSSIANS (1943-1945 summer kit) and a platoon of EYETIES (SICILY and ITALIAN mainland kit) infantry. i might even go back and add some GERMAN and ITALIAN paras, some FINNS, FRENCH, JAPANESE, POLES and generic EUROPEAN partisans (especially attracted to the partisans for dirty little war scenarios also been seriously thinking about those yet to be seen-by me-1930s ECW toys i have heard about lately for successful post OPERATION SEA LION invasion skirmishes). sigh. . . yes, i love skirmish gaming more than huge, table groaning "army" battles . . . must be getting old in my old age . . . . Size wise, they are about the same as BTD or Artizan (bases slightly thicker than BTD). The detail is clean and crisp, with minimal casting lines. Their average infnatry aren't as characterful as some of the ranges around, but certain figures really stick out - I've got to get the BAR gunner with the cigar... All in all, nice figures with good detail, proportions and poses! You can actually see a crusader mini (pointing) this piccie: ![]() Advancing with a pistol in this one: ![]() And on the right in this one: ![]() The figures they are shown with are a mix of BAM & BTD... I've no idea why, but WW2 Finns keep appealing, and the VBCW is lovely (check it out over on the Musketeer miniatures site - but be warned, it is very tempting!) |

I echo the sentiment there Dawgie. Skirmish is the basis of my gaming existance because of it's flexibility. I've never really caught onto the 40k gaming idea of huge armies composed of various degrees of foot troops and armor massing for a conflict on a 8x4 foot table. Epic sized, or Wasmaster scaled armies I can appreciate running on a table top. Either way I still focus on skirmish. Your age my friend Dawgie has little to do with your liking Skirmish. It appears that your gaming history has been based on it, and even your real life history in the Nam was Skirmish from the point of view of an individual. ... But your old age is just old age |

kfc, When you receive, construct, and paint those Vikings please post a review thread. I have a box of the Celts and Romans awaiting attention, and there is always room for Vikings in my collection. tinker |
