Maybe this should go in my Black-ops-command thread; but I think its got some relevance to the board so I'll pop it here instead: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/africa/8341003.stm Interesting to see that lots of PMCs are coming from africa now - might be an idea for a cyberpunk style corperation to draw its security recruits from another continent? |

Well in reality, they are probably cheaper then most so called 1st world nations, and most 'civilised' nations have laws restricting what their citizens can do working for PMCs. I'm actually thinking about joining Dyncorp after my enlistment done. good money. |

World of Red-Sector Quote from Red Sector Commander: "Safety? Safety? Is gun! Meant to kill! No warrior should know he has safety on gun, because he should be killing enemies of homeland! Safety make loud click to aid enemy in locating warriors! No safety!" while pounding his fist on the table (after asked by a rookie guard who asked where the safety on his Assault rifle is) | |

YAH, pay is good, benefits maybe good, but, chances are that instead of wearing black w/kevlar and toting auto weapons when you are not hanging at the hotel, pool or club, you will be in some really sucky shithole up to your ass in bad guys with no safety net when things go to shit . . . i had my chance back in the 70s and 80s when i was contacted by "civilian agents" of "undisclosed governments" believed to be the USA, SOUTH AFRICA, RHODESIA, and PORTUGUESE AFRICA and was in need of a job. . . said "civilian agents" just happened to be hanging out at the state unemployment office and interviewed "potential hires" with a military combat background or a military technical combat support background. i would have been working for some "international private corporation" with many interests in THIRD thru SEVENTH WORLD shitholes. they even had brochures showing JOE MERC, looking cool, surrounded by knockout women, and living the good life between tours of duty . . . two years and months in the RVN were enough to last me a lifetime, and i would not touch the offer with a 1,000 meter pole . . .
