Ironclaw is an Adult Male gryphon. Gryphons are often found wandering the world these days, so a distinction as to 'proffession' beyond 'adventurous traveller' or 'part-time mercenary' is a bit redundant. Gryphons are not a common sight, although they aren't exactly rare. Ironclaw is generally a 'good' person (Cat-bird? Gryphon? )although he is prone to bouts of cynacism & sarcasm, with an adventurous personailty. He's often acted as a mercenary or guide, and hunts in his spare time. Gryphons are nearly always hungry due to their size, and the energy required to moving something of their scale through the air. Gryphon flight is partly magically assisted (and as such all gryphons have some magic abilites, although Ironclaw isn't very gifted in this manner; only being able to thought project and light candles/small fires), and it is rumoured that they were created as a race of warrior avaians to protect order and defend the weak many millenia ago. It was in this role that the great gryhpon clans clashed with the Zenlesians, and were almost obliterated in their (eventually successful) attempts to cast them out of this plane. Gryphons don't tend to use 'items' due to the difficulty of manipulating things with claws. 18" metal 'Fighting claws' can be used if there is a dedicated 'fitter' to get them ready before battle and remove them afterwards (They are uncomfortable and unweildy, and can only really be used effectively whilst flying. It can also be argued that they are rather unessecary as a gryphons normal claws are normally a good 6" long!). Ironclaw can use them, and has done in the past, but currently they are being kept for him at the 'Hat and Boot' Tavern (Which passes as his home when he's not travelling or in his eyrie in the mountains). Some gryphons have been known to wear armour, although Ironclaw doesn't like the effects it has on his speed, agility and flying endurance. Ironclaw wears a leather body harness, which has a pouch for gold, a pounch for kindling & another for dried meat (all designed for easy access for a gryphons talon), small metal plates over the points where his wings meet his body, and empty sheaths for transporting a pair of fighting claws. I've already posted up pictures of Ironclaw on the thread, so I won't duplicate them here... |

Rooting through the Interwebs, Helldorado seems to have a "near perfect" Alkimos Sketch;![]() Saves me some trouble, and a damn sight better than what I could do. Alkimos is from the Eastern Kingdoms, i.e. what we would call Persia. 4th in line for the Throne of Alakesh, he has left his native land to regain honour from the last Conflict, where, supported by "infidels" from the West, a Civil War erupted, removing Alkimos' family from Power. A crude "council" now governs Eastern Kingdoms, although the people suffer now more than ever. Edited by Schrodinger's Cat, Nov 3 2009, 10:46 PM.

Grum comes from a long line of adventures and has many relics from his ancestors. from his father he has a trident made out of a sturdy material that is almost impossible to break or bend. from his grand father he has a curved sword that blades has a ritualized material along it making extremely sharp and almost impossible to blunt. from his great grandfather he has a banner from zekur that has powerful stitch magic in it that makes all those who see it see the bearer of it as a mighty and noble person and will listen to him. also from his great grandfather a bag using more zekur stitch magic and it has an unlimited supply of kibish a dangerous drug, and from his great great grandfather he has a magical helmet and chest plate that slightly repel arrows and blades. he has not been in many adventures himself but he has listen intently to his fathers tales and teachings and has learned well. while his father and his father's fathers were great warriors grum is more like his great grandfather and is more charismatic and has been entranced in the zekur stitch magic and traditions. grum is off looking for his place in his families line and what artifact he will add to the trove he will give his son. |

I was kinda giving other people the option of doing that when I gave the new set up, detailed the encroaching storm and the fact that bad things were likely to happen... |

The revenants are ethereal creatures - lost spirits left over from ancinet battles. They have been trapped on the plain for various reasons (death hasn't found their soul-list, the valkyries didn't choose them, cursed by great magic, bound by ties of love or hate). They prey on the life force of the living, primarily out of greed and bittereness at their state. They can't be killed, but can be driven off. Occasionally it may be possible to lay a revenant ot rest permenantly. Visually they are ethereal warriors, their bodies still bearing their death wounds, and their features partially decayed. The detial of the figures flickers, as if covered in unearthly fire, which neither feeds nor consumes them. The whole being is coloured grey-blue, and flickers, again as if on fire. Was part of the insperation for the revenants, but I see them as being more horrific - possibly by blending them with the Ringwraiths as they appear when wearing the Ring. I.e. or ![]() but making the fluttering of their garb flames instead ![]() mixed with and ![]() and ![]() and ![]() and Edited by v_lazy_dragon, Nov 24 2009, 02:13 PM.
