How Many Figures Make A Good Gang?; How many figures do you like to have?

I am planning to sculpt about 10 figures for each Faction/Gang.
1 Leader decked out and cool.
1 to 3 Heavy Weapon/Special Weapon Warriors.
3 Warriors x 2 per sculpt.
Equales 10 models for a typical gang.

Some Factions are comprised of very powerful Mutants and so these types would get say 3 to 6 sculptures. These being an even match play wise to the 10 figures from a lesser faction.
There are Gangs that would combine too.
As an example. Say The MURG Allied with some Ghoules...now you have 20 some odd figures making up a very powerful Gang on the table.

What do you guys think of this?

I would normally go 4-6 for well equipped types (power armour and decent weapons) with two heavies/speicalists

For moderately equipped (some decent body armour, half decent weapons) I would go for 6-8

For a wasteland gang or other faction with decent weapons 8-10

For the poorly equipped 10-12 or higher.

My forces are usually about double Danny's size; but that certainly seemstheright sort of ratio to me...

I'd vote to go with your initial thoughts on numbers, then if you get highly keen once you've finished doing the forces you have already planned, then go back and add the odd sculpt to the old lots.

I'm with Ross on this one. Its a decent number of troops without being an army. If you feel you need to do more you can always come back later :)

MY old PA forces number about 2 to1 when using DANNY'S listing, but ROSS (you have such a cute mouth!) has it right as to how to start off.

I'm with danny on this one, I also ration my men according to how hi tech the are. No point having one ghoul facing 8 BOS paladins ;)

I would also go along the same lines, about 8 seems a good number.

YOU BROS ARE A HELP TO ME FOR REAL.
I'll look at it all then, and decide as per the Factions, as I sculpt everything.
If it looks good, on the table...then it is good...I reckon.
:coffee:
My big concern was keeping each Gang nice on the table, with out having a lot of duplicate models.
:pipboy1:
I intend to do a lot of Factions, so I have to be practical also...or it will never get done.
Besides I am making these for guys like us who RPG with Miniatures.
:(|cool:
If the big time 15mm war gamers want a big ass force, they can do fine with getting selveral packs. That should be good, becuase they would have a Leader with Heavy/Special Weapons and a decent group of Troopers all in a single Gang Pack. So a Gang Pack also works as a Unit Pack for big games.

Right on the money guys.
Say I do a Bad Dude Vampire, and you get him as a Human, Bat, Wolf, and cool Man-Demon-Bat thingie...right...well THAT is a Pack.
Ain't it?
:twitch:
Use 'em all at once or use each as per what the Vampire is doing.
:(|thumbs:
Either way this single guy (Pack) is going to be a good and fun macth for any 10 guys.

Hmm... As mentioned above different factions will have different numbers of troops required.

Ghouls: Vicious and strong but not that smart - 12-15
Zombies: Slow and stupid, require Necromancers to keep them going - 20-30
Dwarves: Strategic and well equipped, good fighters too - 6-8
Humans: Resourceful and quick to adapt.

That kind of thing :)

I'd say yes. More like a "leader" pack though.

Actually, reminds me of the old two packs you used to be able to get from Ral Partha and Grenadier, where you'd get the mounted knight and a version on foot.

Yup.
Some of my buddies are saying that NO ONE will buy 15mm if it is desinged to be purchased and played as RPG/Skirmish.
Well fuk me...that is what most guys do, from the post that I read, for this type of stuff.
Sure a lot of guys buy big armies too, but that is more of a Historicals gamer...and many of these folks would not look at my stuff anyhow...just like they turn their noses at GW and such.
I mean...lol...you say Necromunda to them...they are like; "Necro-who?"

Oh lord... we're back on the necrophillia line again - is this going to be Danny's nexct project after the purple helmet? The "Ancient and unholy order of corpse wedders" and their attempts to contain (And then marry) the zombie apocalypse?!?
