WHILE roaming around on line this afternoon i came across an advertisement for a soon to be release PA video game for the XBOX 360 called METRO 2033. info is sketchy, but it seems that after the poo hits the fan world wide, normal humanity is almost wiped off the face of the EARTH. survivors do so by going underground, and outlasting the effects of the nastyness on the surface of the world above them. apparently not everyone has the luxury of VAULT TECH, so the some of RUSSIANS use the 100s of miles of the MOSCOW underground transit system tunnels maintenance spaces, and stations as a place of refuge. they not only survive but actually begin to "prosper". then for some unknown reason, one or two whole generations of survivors are faced with the prospect of having to go "topside" and establish themselves in a completely unknown and hostile world of bio hazards, radiation hazards, air hazards, chemical hazards, mutations, etc. soooo, recon parties are dispatched topside to learn WTFO, locate salvagable tech, other resources, and to secure places for the metro folks migration. . . . the art that came with the ad immediately made me think of a planet wide STALKER setting (breathing gear, etc). and when i found this ad, i also found out that there are video game discs that are available for the XBOX FALLOUT 3 universe (at a very reasonable price, too) that expands the basic FALLOUT 3 WORLD to include ANCHORAGE, NEW LAS VEGAS, POINT LOOKOUT, THE PIT, and MOTHERSHIP ZETA. these are allegedly complete games that stand alone by themselves in the FO3 WORLD. DAWGIE, amazed by all of this news . . . . |

Most of those are add ons for Fallout 3, they expand the vanilla game but do not run on their own....... Operation Anchorage is a Outcast bunker housing a computer simulation of the battle of Anchorage, Alaska. Broken Steel.....added extra content and allowed you to continue your character past the main quest's ending. The Pitt (Pittsburgh) is a self contained city (well more of a small fortified town, within the ruins of Pittsburgh) Point Lookout is another self contained area with TOUGH enemies you travel to by boat. Mothership Zeta sees your character abducted by aliens... Fallout Las Vegas is a totally new game, using the same game engine. Edited by Earl of the North, Nov 2 2009, 09:45 AM.

Pretty much..........the Game of the Year Edition has Fallout 3 + all 5 included, so if your a new buyer thats the one to go for. Fallout Las Vegas is due out next year (sometime, maybe) and is supposed to be a totally new game, new characters etc, set unsurprisingly around Las Vegas. Strangely since Bethesda is getting another games company to produce the game (Bethesda will then publish it), it isn't offically Fallout 4. Edited by Earl of the North, Nov 2 2009, 05:15 PM.
