A couple more useful NPC civvies. Heston Charles is a retired merc turned arms dealer, helping keep the wastelands armed and dangerous and profiting from it. Junkyard Jane meanwhile makes her living as a tech, fixing and rebuilding weapons and machinery. Give her any grief and she swings a mean wrench too. The lady's a Warmachine mechanic/tech type. I never really looked at Warmachine until now but a couple of people here have used bits and bobsd and they do look pretty cool so I've picked up a couple more I'll hopefully have painted before long. The arms dealer was made like my other trader, using a GW terrain open ammo box and various bits of weaponary with a ridiculously over armed Shadowrun character of some sort. He's one of a variety set, a mixed bag of 10 or so minis of varying degrees of usefulness. |

Urban Gorillas- They couldn't spell guerillas but with their 'roided up physiques "gorillas" suits them better anyhow. One of many raider type gangs roaming through the wastes destroying things aimlessly as they search for more muscle building narcotics to feed their addictions. GW plastic Catachans with bits and bobs from other GW plastic sets for added variety. Inspired by Carrakon I've been playing about with the GW plastic sets a bit recently. Not too happy with the trousers here, a drybrush not quite worked as I'd hoped. |

A trenchcoat wearing survivalist engaged in a dispute with a phsyco mutant, that's about to get very nasty. The survivalist is another result from the GW plastics (using only stuff from these sets). Main body is an IG officer with head and resiprator from the same set (the Cadian command set has five separate respirators to put over faces. Very post apoc) and regular IG arms. The ghoulish looking mutant is a Warzone mini listed simply as "Heretic". He's packaged alone so not sure if he's a character or super zombie or what, but he's got a ton of personality. |

Wasteland Foxes- Three sexy gang girls looking for easy prey for a holdup. Using their feminine wiles they've been pretty successful in leaving unsuspecting dupes dying in the dust while making off with their loot. There's a bounty on these girls and they're wanted. In more ways than one and by many people. Two scantily clad Copplestone babes with guns with a Necromunda juve. Every wasteland needs at least one bad ass girlie gang so I'll have to bring in a few more recruits. |

NICE LOOKING TOYS - and the bases do add to the overall appearance. . . a nice neutral blue grey or a soft grey color is what i have used on most of my bases over the years, with various terrained topsides. since i have been playing THW more than any others, i have gone and painted a color coded bar to the front and rear side of each base that tells me what REP lead i am dealing with. BLACK = REP-6 and UP RED = REP-5 BLUE = REP-4 GREEN = REP-3 YELLOW = REP-2 WHITE = REP-1 AND it is easy enough to change the REP on a particular little lead joe/jolene as and when i need to do so . . . Very nice. Lots of character inspirations in there. I must find one of those WZ heretics. I think the dry brush on the urban gorillas pants looks okay. I like the camo looking pattern on them. I am doing the plastics thing too. Now I have to get a IG officer set. EM4 has some nice ladies in its Future War range too. I think there is a couple of potential candidates in the Bikers line. Hey Dawgie thats a pretty cool idea about the bases for THW. It may work for other games too such a Nuke Ren 2 (although they have only 3 reps) or Skank. |

Good looking stuff Wanderer! I was toying with a similar idea to Dawgie to help distinguish between 'grades' of figures for ACQ or GDTD (Elite, proffessional, regular, militia, rabble, fanatics, etc) but I've yet to get around to it... |

Thanks form the comments, the whole basing thing is still quite new to me. Nice idea with the colour coding Dawgie. Looking at it with fresh eyes, the drybrush camo doesn't look too bad. It's just one of those moments where I was hoping for something else. Ah well, you live you learn. The two plastic IG officer sets do come with a lot of cool parts and different heads. Danny, I may actually have an unpainted Heretic going spare since due to a mix up with Prince August I ordered a few bits twice and think that is one of them. |

OK, update time with more stuff and things to be added. Mayor MacQuimby and Sherrif- Leader of a settlement in the old Docklands, MacQuimby is about as trustworthy as any politician from before the apocalypse, so not at all. His main skills include fiddling expenses, dodgy deals, lying about his achievements and declaring pointless events like "International Rat On A Stick Day." His bodyguard wears an old American style motorbike cops outfit with helmet. MacQuimby is a Foundry Street Violence fig, a detective I think but he looks suitably shifty. The bodyguard is a converted EM4 cop, I figured the uniforms would look the part for a US bike cop and gave him a Spinespur crash helmet. Now here's a weird thought. Unconverted, those cops look a bit Village People, and painted in black and pink one would make for a very convincing Purple Helmet member. |

Random Gangers- Older figs given the drybrush and basing treatment. Mosh is back and still trying to convince everyone else that real men wear skirts, but his buddies aren't having it. Two Foundry punks (one given a new hat, the other shaved bald), two EM4 gangers (one given a hat, the other headswapped with a Spinespur thug) and a GW ganger (think he's one of the more recent Orlocks). Wasn't crazy about the Spinespur thugs when I picked them up, but I did like the separate heads and weapons, so have used some of these in conversions. |

Cool thats a pretty nice character and I love the body guard. I may use one of those cops for the cult of the purple helmet. The gangers look good. Edited by mattblackgod, Jul 18 2010, 04:20 PM.

Survivalist/Scavenger Couple- Who says you can't find love in the wastelands? These star crossed badasses first encounter was while both were raiding a ruined office block, and they had to work together to escape mutated killer spiders. They've been inseparable ever since, surviving together against anything Nu London life throws at them. A well equipped EM4 scavenger, and an armed to the teeth Hasslefree survivalist/zombie hunter. It was only after I'd painted the girl and had the man sitting on my table that I figured they look quite good together. Aww sweet... |

Wasteland Foxes- We met the first three a few posts back, but now they've brought a few friends along including an ex army girl and a teenage emo. The girl gang is shaping up pretty nicely, just need to get a big heavy gunner or sniper in there somewhere. Four Copplestone babes with guns, a GW juve, a Hasslefree zombie hunter and a Rezolution schoolgirl painted goth/emo style. |

Thanks, I am pleased with the bodyguard/motorbike cop conversion. The hats, the shades, the leather coats, the jackboots, the nightsticks... There's definite Purple Helmet material there. |

Rising Suns- Two ninja assassins from Neo Nippon. The ancient art of ninjitsu has moved with the post apocalyptic times, as they combine cutting edge technology such as cloaking devices with centuries old killing techniques. The guy with the swords is a Void Vasa ninja type character. The one with the gun is an Infinity... Uhh, someone or other. He's from the Yu Jing (?) faction. |

Here we see the leader of the Ragin' Rambo's mercenary squad, with a couple of his soldiers. This battle hardened vet has a powerful and very rare plasma pistol along with the standard assault rifle and blade. A Warzone Sea Lion. His pistol was a hand flamer, but I figured it'd be cool to try and repaint it as a retro Fallouty looking plasma pistol. |
