Introducing a few of Nu London's infamous personalities, in no real order: Ricky Rags. Scavenger/survivalist (EM4 scavenger) Tackleberry. Corrupt cop (converted EM4 cop) Mad Mike- Wandering wasteland hero (converted Warzone agent) "Colonel" Guile- Mercenary (VOID character) Sasha Saw- Hardened survivor (Hasslefree adventurer) Tatanka. Tribal scout (converted Necromunda Ratskin) McLeod- Highland Adventurer (Warzone wolfbane) Black Fox- Secret agent (Copplestone babe with gun) Bill Bull- Mutant bodyguard (he looks Shadowrun, but seems a bit beefier than normal Shadowrun minis. I should get another pic of this guy, since his nail studded bat is totally hidden). Edit. New picture, with a couple more random characters. Edited by Lost Wanderer, Nov 7 2009, 09:02 PM.

Cool. They look like an RPG group. It might be a good idea to crop your images, so we can see the figures better. Your work is nice, but have you tried to do washes or dry brushing? These extra steps bring out the detailes of your figures more. LAF |

Lost Wan there are 18 articles regarding photography over at Cool Mini or Not, http://www.coolminiornot.com/article ('bout middle of the list) I'll agree with LAF about the washes and drybrushing. The miniatures you have are good table top base colors. GW has a line of washes now, buy one and just try it for experimenting. |

Nice start on Nu London. Who will they be up against? There is a Neo London in my fluff, a pile of rubble with loads of gangs and nasty mutants. In fact the local Bunker City claims the ruins are called this although no one else does. For some cool characters for a London wasteland read "Neverwhere" by Neil Gaiman. Its not PA but has a PA feel and some of the places and characters are inspired by the London tube map. I am pinching a few ideas to give my Fatal Floozies gang some one else to fight other than the Brittannia Bunker City troops. |

Nice brush work! The other option to dry brushing, etc could just be painting in shading into the creveases around shadows/equipment. |

Thanks for the replies. Yeah, I do need to get the hang of this posting pics business. Last time I tried a flesh wash, I ended up with the sort of skintone only seen on the guy from Bargain Hunt. Maybe I'll try on other colours first and see if that gets me a better result. At the moment, Nu London is overrun with small gangs and various other nutjobs fighting each other over the ruined city, looting anything that's left and dodging zombies (gotta have zombies, and I have a bunch from more modern/horror gaming). Eventually there will also be a faction of government/corporate troops to join the fun. |

Introducing a few more of Nu London's misfits, madmen and mercenaries. Tunnel Runners- A scavenger gang who hide out below the surface in the now derelict London Underground system. Hit and run specialists who'll emerge from the tunnels, they'll make off with anything not firmly nailed down and disappear underground. All figs are Copplestone Future Wars (the more recent ones). Edit- new photo. Edited by Lost Wanderer, Nov 7 2009, 08:23 PM.

Random Raiders- Six displaced misfits who currently form their own makeshift loose knit gang. Includes Mosh, the pink skirt wearing "real man". (I based him on an old WWF wrestler. I know, I'm sad). Two Foundry SV punks (one given a hat), three EM4 gangers (one with a headswap, another with a new hat) and what I think is one of the newer Necromunda gangers. Got this one 2nd hand, but he's definitely GW. Edit- new photo with a sixth ganger. Edited by Lost Wanderer, Nov 7 2009, 08:25 PM.

Nu London Anarchy Movement- A militant anarchist crew in distinctive red+black colours, currently holed up in what used to be an old bank building back before the apocalypse. They frequently take the fight to anyone even remotely corporate/government/law enforcement/any other authority figures at all. A mix of Copplestone and Foundry gangers, with a Void "jungle" commando. Edit- New photo, these guys have been given the wash treatment. My picture taking still sucks tho. Survivor "Family"- A group of survivors who've found each other and look out for one another in their own odd sort of "family" consisting of two older veteran "parents", a Japanese exchange student, a teen jock, a creepy little goth and a hanger on with a baseball bat, plus their dog. Coppletsone militia man and babe with gun, 2 Hasslefree schoolgirls, EM4 ganger, West Wind zombie hunter and a Warzone dog. Edit- new photo. Edited by Lost Wanderer, Nov 7 2009, 08:27 PM.

The Neckbreakers- This gang roam across Nu London getting wrecked, starting fights and making their living as bodyguards, bounty hunters and general thugs for hire. No job is too immoral and they'll work for anyone in exchange for generous supplies of the booze and mind altering drugs. Converted SV punk, Copplestone cowgirl, RAFM biker, 2 converted GW plastic Catachans (everyone should have a set of these, they're great for conversions) and two Copplestone gangers (one given a new hat). Edit- New photo, same deal as the anarchists. Edited by Lost Wanderer, Nov 7 2009, 08:28 PM.

Have you looked at the company that does the modern UK police erm.. Sorry cannot remember what its called now. If you don't want to use a flesh coloured was a brown one works well and makes everything a bit dirtier at the same time Also remember to water down the inks

More sweet looking work! I had that problem with flesh wash - what I do these days is to paint the base colour, flesh wash it, and then dry brush the original tone back over. The other option could be just to pick out the highlights with a lighter shade (say 75%base coat 25%white mix). The more I look at your figures, the more I think you might be able to get some cool effects with 'black lining' (leaving a black line around the edges of all the detials, etc). Its an effect I nver got to grips with, but done well with a limited number of highlihgts, it can give a really cool 'comic book' style look. KFC - The Figures are from Hasslefree; although WarmAcre's 'No Go Zone' stuff has some modern british cops, riot police & thugs in it as well... |

Nice minis and fluff. I gotta get some of those Neo Sov partisans for Stalker. I like Mosh, he is a real character. I have started black lining of late. Water down your black paint until its really thin. Then apply to edges with a fine brush and remember a little goes a long way. All you need is a small amount of shade. Another way is to do this with dark brown paint. It is a slightly softer more natural colour. Good luck and try it on a mini you hate until you have a feel for it (I messed one up and ended up black washing the whole thing! ).

Been taking advice from the board, picked up a set of the GW washes and am busy going over my stuff with them. Hopefully I'll have better photos replacing the stuff I've already posted shortly as I've actually washed pretty much everything here over this weekend (it's the Halloween sugar rush I tell ya!). Anyway, a couple of new gangs to post. Bald Eagles- A devious paramilitary style gang who are not only armed to the teeth, but also employ their own full time tech (the guy with the backpack). Backed by the New Londonium Corporation, they they carry out a lot of the NLC's dirtier work and as a result are feared and hated by almost everyone else in Nu London. Necromunda Delaque gangers along with an IG techy guy and a Foundry Matrix type ganger. |

Bounty Hunters- With the sky high crimerate and a hell of a lot of killing going on in Nu London, there's never been a better or more profitable time to be a bounty hunter. Whether they're in it to genuinely keep the peace or they're all about the money, there's plenty of individuals and small groups pursuing this line of work. Two RAFM characters (the taller man and lady) and two Necromunda hired guns, along with a couple of Ral Partha dogs. |

Billy Tripod's Mutie Crew- 'Cause every PA setting needs some muties, right? Mutants are rare in the crumbling city itself, and led by the three armed Billy Tripod these guys come from the wastelands just outside Nu London. They carry out raids on less well protected "normals" around the city's outskirts. A group of Necromunda scavvies, the big guy is one of the newer bunch, the rest are the classics (didn't like the newer scavvies, they looked too human). |
