I still have about 15 - 20 GOLIATHS, 15-20 ORLOCKS, 10-15 ESCHERS, around 10 or so MERCS and SCUM, and a SCAVVIE W/SCALIE gang still. enjoyed the game, really liked the leads. was sorry to see GW do its usual shit can number on NECROMUNDA

I also have about 40 odd of the original RT ERA CONFRONTATION gangers that came along before NECROMUNDA. this was another very fun game with a lot of very nice figures available for it.

VOR - loved the leads, did not care for the rules much. still have a platoon of USA troopers, a couple of USA combat walkers, some growlers, and some mutants

For those of you who think I've left the hobby, I say nay, I just got stuck for a bit over a month trying to paint similar models. Goliaths to be exact. Once again I got worn down by painting a gang, paint a single, no worries, multiples...... stuff's me every time.
Anyway, finished 'em, well, at least half a gang. I'm thinking I'll rip some more from my B29 collections to finish the gang...

Oh, you may have realised I shaved off all the mohawks, they look cooler now...

I realised while painting these, that I love love LOVE the character in the faces of the old metal Goliath sculpts:

Brian, yes you can, but you pay postage both ways and add in my small artists fee.....

Thanks Dan :)

I was going to go the 75% tatoo look with these fellas, but I haven't come across any ideas as of yet to cover them with.

Awesome paint work on those. They look really good bald. Small change that makes a huge difference. I think they'd fit perfectly with the newer Goliaths.

Of course, I like the mohawks, so I wouldn't say they look better bald, but I would say, just as good.

Looking really good per usual Ross. How about Celtic designs or even Maori Tribal tattoos?

Sorry for the thread-o-mancy but a couple of ideas have crossed my autistic mind.

IMHO... the figures for the Ash Waste Nomads look absolutely horrible. They were obvious conversions (poorly done, at that) which were rushed into production.

:suicide1:

So... what might we use as alternatives?

Pig Iron's Kolony Ferals are always an option but I've never been a fan of their heads, the arms and guns aren't modular... and I've already used their bodies for two different squads.

Northstar's Cultists and/or Soldiers for Frostgrave, a few sets of Victoria Miniatures Winter arms, and you're good to go. Much more modular than Pig Iron and you can mix/match your weapons. However, again the problem is the heads.

We need hoods, headwraps, scarves, goggles, respirators, gas masks.... basically we need Stalker heads.

With the proper Stalker-esque heads, these guys would make excellent Ash Waste Nomads:

So the question is... where do we find Stalker heads or (if worse comes to worst) how do we make them?

Note: Due to a recent spell of severe anxiety problems, I am rather medicated at the moment so please disregard my meandering babble. :dizzy:

Stalker heads? Gas masked and hooded?

I used the Iron Pig Kolony rebel heads for my old Stalker project. The gas masks have a old soviet vibe to them. Hoods where sculpted from thin pieces of green stuff.

I have dozens of those heads.

To me, Ash Waste Nomads should be ragtag, using whatever they can scavenge... so all of them having the same mask/head wouldn't work. I'm thinking maybe a couple with Kolony Rebel heads and greenstuff hoods, then maybe a couple of Skatarii Ranger heads (with the antenna and cabled removed) as well as a few Frostgrave Cultist heads with Imperial Guard respirators attached, and so on. I've got some ideas but it's going to take ALLOT of bits gathering.

As it is, I've got something like 6 different kit bash projects going so this one will have go on the back burner for now.
