I do. Perhaps it's the fact that they were the fisrt sci-fi non soldier models I'd ever seen, perhaps it's 'cause I see the game a bit like a version of Escape from New York, perhaps it's the gaining of Xp and character development. Either way, I still have sweet feelings for this game. You know the strange thing? I've only played a dozen or so games (of "pure strain" Necromunda, when I started B29 it was a bastardized version). So coming up to summer, I've gotten the bug again. Instead of making terrain for Hell Paso I cleaned up and based some pitslaves and a ratskin sniper. So far (as I'd rather be painting than sculpting/modeling any day) I've painted one pitslave: ![]() ![]() ![]() So, anyway, thought I'd blog my summer of Necro painting, at least what I can squeeze in around everything else I'm doing.... |

Cool mini. He would make a great mini for Nuke Ren's Giggles Clan. Ross - check out Nuke Ren as rules. Its PA and is very similar to Necro in feel and like Necro you can improve your characters with each game. |

You will buddie. I am not really doing a 15mm Version of Necro. I am not going to do exact out right Tom Foolery, and Violent Plunder. But...I figure since GW has been Inspired by just about every cool story or movie in the past. So... I am going to find some Insperation from them. Thus when I say for example that "I am going to do Rat Skins, and get them right this time." I mean that my little gang of raiders are actually going to be RAT-Men. ![]() Let's make it even more fun...now that's how to do it me thinks. LAF |

Don't worry Schro, I've never played Necro either... although I've used the models plenty of times. I did have the full set of ratskin minis at one point, as well as all the ash waste figures that they officially released.... I'm with Freebooter on the rat-men vs rat-skins... what I liked about the originals were the pseudo-native american tribal look, and I'm justn ot sure that Sk'Aven (AKA Rat Men AKA Goth rats, AKA Vermen etc) will quite capture that feel. They may be cool, but they wouldn't nessecarily fit the same niche... |

Hey Dragon THAT was great. A really good reply. Not to steal from Ross and his super cool PS's. This is his topic, but since we are all chatting it up... I hear you buddie. WFB's Skaven are cool, but that is not what I am doing. Picture Dark Under Types, almost like Drow-Dark Elves. Now give them MAD MAX Mini Cross Bows, and wild long hair with some fun Wastlander Trinkets. Keep them Clan/Tribal/Conan like. Also you might imagine Modernized Indians like the army scouts at the end of Dances With Wolves. Now make them from 5 to 7 feet tall, and built like a brick house. THAT is kind of what my Rat-Men look like. I will post a COMPLETED preview sculpt very soon. LAF Edited by Legend And Fiend, Oct 19 2009, 10:45 PM.

I too really like NECROMUNDA; i have some scum, mercs, bounty hunters, ESCHERS, GOLIATHS, and the crewcut guys wearing T-shirts, vests, blue jeans w/towels over their crotches-cannot remember what they are called now. i even have some of the cyborg gangers, big do gangers, and early scavvies that were released for the CONFRON -TATION rules published in the WD before NECROMUNDA. Here's a group shot of the pit slaves, it's a darker pic than I'd prefer but it'll do:![]() ![]() ![]() LAF, I've got just the three pit slaves and my Cawdor gang built and painted for Necromunda. With the five Arbites, 11 Orlocks, and 6 or so Goliaths to make/paint. I have got a whole bunch of Goliath models that are my wasteland raiders, included in that are two more pit slaves I think. I've also got a few Escher that are warrior women in the wasteland, a scaly mutant guy unfinished and that's about it. |
