Danny told me this board needed more spambots to fully reach the international recognition it deserved, so on his recommendation, I'm posting a topic about GoG. :$
I had posted a temporary link to it before the pdf was uploaded on our website - it's now finally up and ready for download from http://golgoisland.free.fr

Hope you'll like it :)

Cheers!

Lol - Gologo island stuff is always welcome! It serves as brilliant insperation for my mulp games; even if I do have to water some of the ideas down a little... (i.e. instead of having a spandex-clad character called 'pryroman' waving a fire axe and a flame thrower chasing a clone of hitler in a tutu through the Jungle; I have a special forces operator call 'pryro' carrying a flame thrower hunting long lost Nazis in the Jungle...)

Love the Golgo Island updates too!

You didn't water it down Xander you drowned it! Where is the fun of NOT chasing a Transvestite Former Axis leader though the underbrush??

Knowing my gaming group ;) What ever concept I come up with will get sillier and more pulpy as time goes on (*cough* GASLIGHT campaign *cough*)

Therefore if I start with my (initial) suggestion, I'll end up with martial arts psycho bunnies from zorgl & Zardoz saving the human princess Nor Ksa Kimbo from the depravtions of tutu hitler, the robotized hitler clone and half the cast of little shop of horrors... I.e. like a bad LSD trip, but with more bright purple rabbits and less sense

On the other hand, if I start with my 'Arnie' by movie plot, I'll probably degenerate to Martial arts characters with miniguns & lazers fighting back aginst the global machinations of a time-travelling tu-tu wearing hitler clone (who will come back as the robo hitler when he 'dies'), and his army of masked minions, steampunk contraptions, latex clad psycho chicks and ninjas... i.e. an ultra cheesy GI JOE-esque B movie extravaganza :) (Which TBH is what I'm expecting from my MULP campaign... I'll be amazed if it stays at action movie level. Possibly relieved and similtaneously a bit disapointed. Silliness is good, but too much can get a bit over the top for me.... and gamesoc peps often don't know when to stop.....)

I asked that same question long ago... MULP is Modern Pulp something the lines of 007, the Man from UNCLE, the Avengers, Johnny Quest, Mission Impossible (I know each is a sixties show I can't think of another modern example except Austin Powers- but that is MULP Golgo Island style).

Lolz! I recommend Critter Commados for all your gun toting critter needs!

And yes, Tink is spot on. Mulp is 'Modern Pulp' which is effectively all the shows mentioned, plus 80's arcade games, Stallone & Schwarzeneger action movies, PA & other stuff all mixed up in a blender...

The whole Golgo Island setting fits great with my own setting. I can incorporate almost anything with easy.

I might reserve the more zany stuff for the occasional light hearted game session, but it certainly has it's place.

@Banana Tyrant, are you taking suggestions for new minis? I'm sure you could get some very interesting suggestions here.

Edit:If you ever get around to doing a GI Legends Thor Pasadenas, you've got a customer here.

Hey Dawgie... Now you mention it, I'm thinking of a mini in the line that might look a bit like Duke Nukem ... :$

Also, there's got to be a not-Emma Peel in the Kiss Kiss Bang Bang range (either Copplestone or Artizan).

Consectari, sure I'm always taking suggestions. Beware though that I have too many things at the back of my head that need doing already, so no promises...
A revamped Thor Pasadenas... He's one of my favourite characters, so I'd be quite tempted to put him on top of my list!

Problem with the regular figs currently is I'm too busy with real work to sculpt at the moment, and the problem with the Legends is the cash of course - due to all the problems we had this year (Tony's recent serious health incident being a major one), we have a ton of stuff that's been in the pipeline for nearly a year now that sucked all my funds without giving me a penny in return for the time being. When those are finally out (and if they do decently, of course), we can add more to the Legends range - and if we get lucky, start a side project I've been wanting to do for years... :wank:

OK, you can't just tease me like that. Can't you share any details?

When the November releases come out, I'll make the rounds in my small circle and twist a few arms. Try to drum up some business. Of course, I'll be sending my cash too.

I know one place Earthquake and El Bastardo will be a big hit.

While all your troubles, are the November releases still on schedule?

No :boobies:

No, honestly no - it's very tempting to spill the beans, but it's just too early and I don't want to look like an idiot if it doesn't happen. :D

Regarding November - I have no bloody idea. It's an important date as it's both the anniversary of Golgo and a period of Christmas purchases, so I really hope we can manage. But I've been announcing release dates all year only to have some shit happening just when the previous one had been cleared.
It depends heavily on how Tony recovers - he really needs a rest! - and how quick he can catch up on pending ERM orders in a busy period and then only do some mouldmaking/casting.

I'm not overly confident, to be honest ^o)

I'll keep you updated anyway so you can proceed to all the required arm-twisting - which will be very much welcome and appreciated! ;)

Cheers

Sadly, the zombie hamster is one of those "might be" November releases.

The Golgo Island setting uses the War Engine rules here:
http://warengine.darktortoise.com/index.php?title=Golgo_Island

The Golgo add ons (which even allow for solo play!)

Hey, cheers for posting the links.

If you take a look at this starter scenario, it should give you a fair idea of the mechanics:

While I'm at it, I've sorted out some pics... :P
