This sounds like a Brilliant idea! I'm really looking forward to seeing what else you produce.
I've never painted myself as a miniature... I may have to find one :$

Thanks lads. I'm going to start the demons tonight (motivation permitting), I was going to hit the terrain this weekend, but I'm at a loss for inspiration for Mexican terrain. If anyone has any good links to some Mexican villages and could link 'em here would be appreciated.

Has a rather cool 1830's Mexican Pueblo. I doubt it would have changed much by the time you're looking at. IIRC there are 'making of' articles on LAF (posted by Malamute)

Nice work so far Ross. I really like the strumpet.

I look forward to seeing the demons. For some terrain (and character inspirations) you could do worse than watching the magnificent seven or wild bunch.

Ohh yeah the Wild Bunch! One hell of a good movie. Although the Magnificent Seven was enjoyable I give more kudos to thee orginal, "The Seven Samurai".

There was a TV movie ten years back called, "Purgatory" where all the famous outlaws of the Old West were spending eternity until the screwed up once again or do the right thing. By doing the right thing they'd get to heaven, and the bad... well off into the fiery abyss. If available DVD or Video it might be an okay rental just for a possible resource in your specific genre.

Big thanks for the link Xander, that's what I'm after! I'll start working on it on the weekend.....

I was motivated last night, working on the first D's, the Coinless or Sightless:

It follows the idea/belief the American Indians had regarding a corpse' need for it's eyes least it be doomed to wander the nether realm forever.
As you can see, the sculpting is more than a little suspect, so I up and ordered some Eureka D's tonight (just for....er.... backup..... :D ).

I don't know.. baring in mind that they are tortured souls, wandering the deadlands for all of time, I'm pretty sure that they wouldn't look 'normal' anymore - so the sculpting could actually wok for you in that case...!

Yeah that's why I decided to try full sculpts for this, distorted faces/arms/legs etc can be easily passed off as Demons, or alternatively, mutants......

Wow. I had completely forgotten about the eureka demons.

The guys you're working on are looking good. Are they going to be wielding any weapons? Or just have gribbly claws?

In a dodgy ode to the pig cops from Duke Nukem, and their wild west versions in Duke Nukem: Zero Hour, they'll be wielding double barreled sawn off shotguns.

Hmm... This is shaping up quite nicely. Mutants and demons are always a good way of practicing your sculpting skills :)

This actually sounds -really- damn cool!
I'm normally not a big Western guy, but I've been tempted by a few things.. now, a Western with Horrible, Incomprehensible Beasts of The Ether, Duster-clad Bastards, and gratuitous gore?

This Project.
I like where it's going.
