Aircraft Terrain!; Got a kit?

I was mooching around some urban exploration threads and spotted this:
Long Marsdon Aircraft Museum.

Got a model kit and dont know what to do with it? Make one of these. I have a couple of 1/48 aircraft someplace. They might make nice long abandoned aircraft.

I love the Sea King....it reminds me of the helicopters in Stalker.

Cool idea. I saw an episode of Top Gear a week or two ago, and they had a rally car driver hook around an old airfield filled with ruined planes and bits of debris, very inspiring!

Nice aircraft and I have to agree it is sad to see them rot. Every now and then some restorer syndicate comes along and puts one of the old birds back in the air, like that Vulcan recently. It is time consuming and costly, and the CAA makes like difficult (which is why no one has been able to put a Mosquito back in the air or build a replica). :(

Seeing as BAE own the rights to some of these aircraft (as they bought out the companies) you would think they would have a interest in keeping their history flying. I have to admit (along with the RAF) they keep some old battle of Britain planes flying (a Lancaster, a couple of Spitfires and three Hurricanes as I recall. Oh and a Fairy Swordfish too). Still such projects would keep the old vets happy and give the apprentices some new skills that they may never have a chance to learn.

Maybe they should do replicas of certain aircraft with modernised materials and sell them as sports aircraft like they do in the states (the old Yak is the new popular race toy).

Some nice (And I also agree, kind of sad) Pictures there. 1/100 scale aircraft are quite easy to come by, so I might have to pick some up myself.

Nah it was the Brit top gear. I'm not a car fanatic and only tend to watch that sort of thing when there's nothing else on telly. Never seen the Aussie version.

Do you know how difficult it is to see a nice pair of lungs on TV these days? I guess not that difficult when you've got a DVD player.....

Cool find Matt.
I have a bunch of the Miasto dicast jets I intend to mess up for my 15mm Terrain, and this site is great for ideas.

Cheers LAF, that what we are here for.

I have to agree Shadowbeast, English Russia is a great place to wander. The Russians seem to be a bit mad and seem to have tons of cool stuff laying about forgotten. Makes me want to move there. :D Is that the Russian copy of the Harrier jump jet I see in that little lot?

This is an interesting way to make footy (soccer to you colonial types! :D ) more interesting. . It would be the only way to get me to watch! :D

You are determined to keep this thread flipping back towards "mammary gland mount kits" aren't you...
I show you derelict aircraft and you keep looking till you find the breasts....

Maybe if I could find pics of ladies with their breasts naked posing on derelict aircraft this thread might go back on topic...
