Into the Deep – Part 2

Reich Assault!

Rules: Stalker Oblivion

The SS squad was never heard of again. No one in the Aryanreich bunker city knew what became of them. Meanwhile in the tunnels some Vermen met with some Smoggers and plans where laid to this remove this new threat.

Silently in the dark the Vermen dragged fresh kills through the tunnels past known Ghoul haunts and lead a path straight to the Bunker city.

Some new SS guards straight from the SS academy guard the tunnel.

“Don’t worry boys, we can take the Mutant scum” boasts Sgt Dan Gleebitz.

“But Sergent, Krass’s squad never came back!”

“They must not have been pure enough! Anyway lad, don’t worry the automated buns up the tunnel will take out the mutants and put us on guard ”

Suddenly the lights dip. The emergency lights flicker on.

“What the? Control we have a power outage. Get a tech down here pronto!”

Meanwhile in the darkness behind the guns some figures gather. The Ghouls have followed the scent, but can now smell fresh meat ahead.

The Ghouls charge up the tunnel.

“Err Sarge!”

“Control! We have a mutant horde coming up the tunnel! We need back up! Repeat WE NEED BACK UP!”

++ At this point I rolled a 6 on a D6. The field SS units will arrive in 6 turns. Good luck lads!++

The Assault rifles blaze in full auto dropping several of the mutants.

“Fire in the Hole!” Gleebitz yells as he lobs a grenade down the tunnel.

The grenade kills three more Ghouls.

Snarling the Ghouls reach the barricades. One leaps up and attacks Gus Tofwin. Its claws scrap down the armour plates.

The Ghouls get the initiative and leap up to attack.

Gus Tofwin falls as the ghoul delivers a lethal blow, but hatred is a powerful emotion and Gus’ hate allows him to plunge his knife into the ghoul killing it.

Otto Wackew is savaged by a ghoul and drops. The ghoul leaps behind the barricades.

Wayne Kerr manages to kill the ghoul attacking him.

Wayne blasts the remaining ghoul and the Sergeant finishes the other mutant.

“Control we need medics and backup fast. We have men down!”

Meanwhile in the darkness two straggling ghouls arrive (they found a dead rat and stopped for a snack).

They charge up the tunnel. The two guards swear and quickly reload their weapons.

++Getting close now. The boys need to hold the barricade for another two turns.++

Before the AR SS guards can fire the mutants leap the barricades and attack!

Sgt Gleebits drops under the blow from a rusty ghoul sword.

Kerr also dies under the blows from the mutants.

Snarling the ghouls rush into the bunker city.

++ The next turn and the back up would have arrived. So close.++

Can the Field SS beat back the Ghouls? Will other less crispy mutants find their way into the bunker city? Tune in next time for the next exciting instalment of “Into the Deep!”

The Vermen and Smoggers were very devious in letting a third party mercenary team attack the bunker... mercs who are paid in flesh flesh and pure blood!!

Geez, then the poor Aryans have to wait six turns for reinforcement? Ouch!!

That bites... literally. Awesome report!
My hands are blistered from trying to get a grip on reality!

Yeah - snack time.

Hey - it gets rid of the ghouls and the Nazis at the same time. For the Vermen and Smoggers its a win win! :D

If there was a full squad of 6 men available the ghouls would have lost. Shame really. The Field SS are at full strength (6 men with 2 LMGs) and have a shiney officer. If they win the ghouls will be pushed back into this tunnel...assumeing that other nasties dont smell the blood and come for a snack. Either way its going to be the game that is the turning point of the campaign.

If they lose then there will be some more fighting further in the bunker with the remnants of the Field SS (if there are any), some recruits from the SS academy (D4) and a bunch of Nazi scum street thugs. Even if they win it is doubtful they can push the mutants back. It will be a case of hold what you can until the academy can deliver more troops or the garrison in Castle Gestalt can sand reinforcements.

If that goes pear shaped then I plan a defend the Reichstag game with the survivors of the above game +D4-1 acamdey recruits and the ladies of the Kaisers personal Deaths Head Guard. A certain Major Maxim will also be present plus a famous sniper.

After that its the survivors, the Kaiser and his two concubine bodyguards and Major Bathory aka "The Butcher" attempting to break for the surface and intending to head to the Old Fortress in the mountains (there is a full SS and Field SS squads there).

... I don't like my baked delights moving of their own volition..

Kinda' funny though, I think most of the people here have picked up those Warzone packs, and the Bauhaus almost always end up as Nazi's or other ne'er-do-wells.
We grew up tall and proud, in the shadow of the mushroom cloud...

Dimitri Automated Buns are the future and I have copyrighted them. :D

I think the Prussian/WW1 look to them means they get lumped into the category. Who else will have uniforms that look like that? The WW1 looking Trencher troops are no less innocent. As part of the Brittannia bunker they regard mutants as third class creatures, only fit to do the menial work. Brittannia city has plenty of mutants but they are oppressed and poor. There are rumours of a coming revolt there.

another blazing encounter ripped from the tunnels of the dark future! poor WZ BAUHAUS boys! they always end up being TEUTONIC a-holes regardless of the genre!


and it pleases me to see that my BAUHAUS lads are not the only ones with a not so bright list of military achievements! my BAUHAUS lads have taken many more lumps than they have dealt out over the years at the hands of cavemen, aliens, mutants, robots, wild animals, cryptos of various sorts, mobile carnivorous plants, vampires, werewolves, big bugs and etc, etc.

Cool battle report! Things ended up pretty close. Love the ongoing campaign aspect.

I just finished painting up 24 Teminator machines. They along with 5 tracked and one aerial Hunter Killers plus 12 Machine bikers will face off against my human rebels. They have 3 APC's, 1 Bradley, 2-4 tanks and a few Apaches. There a lot of antitank weapons available too. I'll start out with mainly ground troops and a vehicle or so. For my large battles I'll use Forge of War. Wastelands and Combat Zone will handle the smaller actions.
