OK, so ya's know I'm none too keen on GW and the way they do business. Some might know however that last year I attended a "booze cruise" 40k "tourney" where we used the oh so latest and greatest (re not actually latest anymore and not all that great) money making scheme, Apocalypse. Well, to be honest, Epic stuff blown up to 28mm isn't such a bad thing.....  Anyway, I decided to have another go at it this year (a year between games of 40k is bearable) and I decided to crack out my old plague worshiping marines, only I didn't have the required points. So I looked through the GW pdf's and picked a couple of easy to make (or so I thought) Epic based things. So, that's why I've been quiet for the last month or so, trying to get this stuff finished. Negative feelings on the subject brought the project to a halt more than once, but I finally got them ready to the point where I'm comfortable putting them on the table. Enough chat, here it is, a Plague Tower of Nurgle:     Since the picture was taken the "fleshy" bits have all been gloss varnished to give it that wet slimy look. Anyway, at least now you guys know why I've been pretty quiet.....

There still is the Ross touch to it... the mangina in the front, the man breast at the top, and of course the ass end of the thing!  I like it a lot. And it does look huge...BTW I really haven't got any negative feelings about GW, just negative feelings about how I let myself be manipulated by their sweet looking toys. So, build up anything you like and post it. |

gasp! GW! lol, your plague tower looks sweet, man-o. even if it will be used for an inferior game system... that has lots of nice looking, pricey minis... but yes, more mangina, man breasted, saggy arsed plague towers, ftw! hooray! |

Glad ya's like it, it was made with a little tongue in cheek, and definitely "Rossed" Tink, apart from Necromunda and one day Mordheim (I keep meaning too do some stuff for it but pure D&D wins out each time), this is the only time I work on GW stuff, making final touches so I can feel like I belong at the Bootcamp event. Though rumor is that this will be the last one which is kinda sad. |

Thanks for the comments guys  If someone takes some pics at the event I'll rip a good one or two and pop 'em up. Got one more model to paint (a weapon of mass destruction...) then I'm right to go, just need beer. |

Well lads, I survived. Much fun was had for the weekend, it was a bit of a struggle though, but with the help of fist fulls of cold and flu pills and bourbon I managed OK. The tower lasted until the last turn on the first day, but was then targeted by some ungodly priced GW Eldar flying thing and the guys rolls that caused a chain reaction (the hit plus 5 scores of 5+ in a row) then an Imperial flyer making a wicked roll causing it to blow. Second day it got spotlighted, bent over and pounded. Damn thing was still alive but couldn't move for the rest of the game and lost all its guns and was finally destroyed a round later when the guy I was battling in the trenches pulled out some orbital strike thing and blew it up. Lots of other memorable moments, trying to organise my side on the first day and me just staring blankly asking "what does your guys do" lots, the rushing around organising people and where they'd strike (found out that the giant Forge World demon characters can easily pull down a dirty big titan (the 4000pt titan boys, yes, some nutjobs actually brought one to the table)), people rushing up to me asking where I wanted them to target their Hellstrike missiles, where to place orbital bombardments etc. Good fun. The Doomsday Device was interesting........ I blew it up and killed 1/3rd of my force on the first day, then it was destroyed on the second making it activate killing 21 marines exiting from a sewer near an allies lines..... Friday night was awesome, got blind drunk and was introduced to a WWI plane game called Wings of War, fantastic game with a few drinks under the belt. So anyway, I'm all gamed out, and still pretty crook from the flu, now the family has it so I'm playing Mr Mum. Just thought I'd report in, I'll see if I can rip some mates photobucket acount and link some pics..... |

There's me in the light brown jumper (stacked on the cloths it was freaking cold that weekend) and my guys in the island fort (plus some green nids, we didn't stay there long...): Here's the big arsed titan getting hit with demons:  Much alcohol was consumed I can assure you! |

Just noticed in that pic, the titan (obviously not finished) is missing its big shoulder wing things, the demons were only just starting to come in that turn belonging to the guy leaning over the table and the Welshman in the "94" jumper (that guy was pure gold!). Behind the big titan you can just make out one of those eldar titans too. |
