Hi! Ive been out of gaming for a bit but have recently decided to have a bash at it again. I have mainly been working on Sci-fi in 15mm scale but have had a rummage through my old wargames rules and found a copy of Star Mogul. I decided to post details of it here as its a post apocalyptic ruleset but features salvage teams, asteroid miners, rogue AIs and assorted aliens fighting over a post apocalyptic galaxy where whole planets now stand in ruins after an alien plague wiped out a goodly chunk of the population. The aim of the game isnt always to shoot up your opponents as gaining salvage brings in money which allows you to purchase better equipment, new crew and vehicles. Its also got some nice game mechanics which can mean your opponent can end up activating in your own turn. Although its a sci-fi game set on the rim worlds of human space, it makes for quite a decent near future game set on a ravaged earth with the survivors trying to eke out a living while fighting off opposing gangs. Ive started a blog to chronicle my efforts : FARPOINT SALVAGE I dont know if it will be of interest but I figured the ruleset might be a nice addition to folks wanting to try another game (its available as a PDF download from the companies website) They also produce some very nice gangers with everything from chainsaws to small arms and wrecking balls, not to mention the rather nice Demobot! Heres a link to their website: ALPHA FORGE GAMES Hopefully I will be able to post some painted bits and bobs to the blog and indeed the forum here over the course of the coming week or so! All the best! |

I have the rules, but I have not got around to playing them. I have to admit it appeals to the sci-fi planet hopping wargames side of me. Some of their minis look great and I plan to pick some up one day. I really like the look of the salvage dog. It did inspire one or two vehicles in my collection.![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I'd heard of this before and all I knew of it was a salvage space gang themed game, but I didn't realise it was a space apocalypse themed game. Even more cool than I'd thought it was!! |
