wastleland bard Posts: 211 Group: Members Member #84 Joined: May 31, 2009	i have recently noticed a drop in the role-playing section and i am inquiring is it because a lack of interests in the story, a lack of interest in role-playing on a forum or is it simply that people are simply just not having the time to play in them. i ask simply because i was curious if their is any want to restart an old rpg/ make a new one or is it just blown.

I was also thinking about having both an in Character gaming thread, and an out of Character thread. Although how we've done it so far has worked pretty well, it does mean that anyone trying to read over the play comes up with a lot of other stuff...

wastleland bard Posts: 211 Group: Members Member #84 Joined: May 31, 2009	all right i will shoot out ideas and people grab on to the ones that sound good (any one else's ideas are very much welcome) A) a group of raiders come across a large battlewagon and have rebuilt what was missing and our now trying to runaway from the rightful owners who have a couple more battlewagons. B) we are a bunch of mercenaries caught in the middle of a civil war between a large gang. C) a crew of scavengers going into old ruins trying to salvage what we can o sell to the near by city.

Its a rolling story, with most of the players following the story's leaders/starters lead. You add bits to do with your character making them act how you see them acting. From time to time as the story moves others might move your character on, or if you are around when the plot turns happen you can move theres along. Read through the Zombies thread for a examples. Its like a RPG without a GM or dice rolling.

A2) During or immediately after the apocalypse B2) 3-20 Years after (Original survivors) C2) 20-60 (2nd/3rd Gen Survivors) D2) 60+ E2) 300+ years later (LONG time later) And what sort of technology? A3) Modern (Ak's, shotguns, etc) B3) Near Future (M41 Pulse rifles, other hi tech projectiles. Possibly experimental Laser/Plasma/Gauss Weapons) C3) Far Future (Laser blasters, etc as the norm) D3) Retro (Automatic weapons rare, but standard shotguns, Hunting rifles, Pistols, revolvers common enough, ammo limited but available. Equivilent period say 1930's ish) E3) Black Powder (Bes suited for a few generations later+; Probably the equivalent of early 1800's - so Muskets, Blunderbusses, muzzle loading shotguns/pistols/rifles. Revolvers/pepper pot pistols & repeating rifles available, but have long reload times once the cylinder/tube is empty. John Wyndam's 'The Chrsyalids' does this sort of setting very well) F3) Primative (Bows, Crossbows, Swords, etc,etc with Black Powder weapons being very rare, expensive & difficult to maintain) E2, E3 & F3 would make the game almost more fantasy based.. could be fun though. Lasers/high tech items could be almost magical relics of the 'age of the ancients' from 'before the sky fire war' I vote E2 & D3 or E3 (I suddenly had visions of a wild west type PA setting, with tribalised mutants fighting back against Humans/less mutated frontiersmen... ) Failing that, I'd go for B2 and A3 or B3...

Super Mutant Posts: 305 Group: Members Member #61 Joined: Jan 19, 2009	i say we do fallout style lol. it sounds unoriginal but think - group of teenage to middle age escapees from a vault making there way. and we devvelop the story from there. when we try to develop the stroy before its even began it kind of knocks the wind out of the whole idea. so: -Earth -about 200 years from now 60 ot so years after the apocalypse. (but not scattered with lasers as they are ultimately a joy kill i.e "zap your dead i win") -loners. -survival it seems to be what we are aiming for any way? Zed
	zombies shuffle. humans run. shouldn't humans always rise victorious? funny that because they rarely do.
