As far as I can tell there's exactly ONE mutant available in 20mm scale so I thought I'd have a go at making some. Here's my first efforts, none of them are finished yet. They are a bit rubbish but posting them up here will definitely encourage me to improve on them.![]() Hunchy Threetoes ![]() Snipper ![]() Crawlin' Wedgehead ![]() Siam Sam and family. Certainly have potential Dicey. Hunchy and the crawler are the better of the two while Siam Sam is up there two. Snippy though.... don't know, maybe a farmers hat and some trousers perhaps? |

That's it, dicehead! Create a market, own the niche, and build your empire! At least Siam Sam is never, truly alone. |

What type of sculpting material are you using? They show a need to evolve your skills... but because of your wisdom to begin with mutants I think once they're painted up they'll be fantastic addition to your collection!! |

Green stuff and a matchstick, never done anything like that before so it's a bit of a challenge. I should have made the arms and heads and stuff separately and stuck them together because otherwise you bend and flatten the bits you've already made while you put the bits on. Pretty obvious really but as you can see I didn't have much of a clue what I was doing. |

There's also the matter of an armature. Get a rought idea of what proportions you want, then make a stick figure out of a paper clip. This is where you decide wether the arms are joined or separate. Then, work in layers. I wish I could offer more help but I'm hardly a master at it either. I'd say that's pretty good work for a matchstick. I'd use a craft knife for some finer details. And make sure to keep your tool wet (I bet that line just made Ross' day ;)). Even look at adding some finer details on to what you've already got. Keep it up. Can't wait to see what you come up with in the future. |
