Time to show what i did while i had no connection. I added some clump foilage to the buildings just now. I slopped on some wood stain to get the buildings looking as grimy as possible. May have used a bit too much, but they've got a decent feel.

They still need to be based, and more details added, like the detritus from the previous inspiration pictures. Maybe an a abandoned campsite with a smoking 10 gallon drum. Also sidewalk and ruined parked cars aswell. Oh and some old posters and graffiti on the walls.

The warlord challenge will be next, but i definatly need a base for it or it won't stand up.

That stuff looks awesome! Reminds me of some of the bombed-out cities in France and Italy in WWII movies!

Hi guys! I haven't had much time for models or anything lately, but i have managed to get a bit more done on this project. These pictures show all the buildings i've made on my 3x3 board. The buildings are on bases now, so i have an idea where the parking lot, 'garden area' and other various features will go. Inbetween these bases i intend to do some basjed up roads.

Where the orange bucket is i will put a fountain/round about.

Where the smoking paraphenalia is i'll make a sort of traffic island with a couple of trees.

Any suggestions will be bery welcome.

I've been meaning to ask you, how do you handle the corners of the walls, putting the two walls together? Do you cut them with an angled edge? Dovetail them?

I reak of class don't i?

@ninjamonkey The buildings are made from foam core. So it's easy to take out the foam centre and one of the cardboard sides with a knife. I'm not sure if that is dovetailing. But what you essentially do is create notch to glue one of the sides into. Does that make sense?

I have about a dozen very cool plastic model train HO Scale buildings, all are very detailed and look great. :goggleson:
I am going to use them for my ruined city table.
But...lol...the thing is, these models are damn hard, and that is why I purchased them, they will take abuse and hold up fine.
The thing is, as they can not be cut to make levels, they are going to pretty much be just nice eye candy, more than anything. :excited: About all you can do with them in game is walk around them, or get on top of them, or climb on their cute little fire escapes.
:(|:P:
After looking at CC's stuff again, which I had seen before on his DC Blog, I would like to make some stackable buildings too. :work:
The problem with that, is when I mix them with my plastic super buildings...well...it won't look right.
What do you guys think I can do to fix this mess?
:frustry:
Help...
:match:

The only thing I can think of is popping off the top, then making removable floors where the ones above sit on the inner walls. But if you can't cut them then I'm outta ideas......
