Ok. Well, you all seem to love and enjoy STALKER, and i really want to play it. Thing is, i need a new comptuer in order to do that. Does anybody know where i can get a comptuer (Price range is less then a thousand dollars) that can play STALKER and STALKER: Clear Sky on at least meduim or high settings? |

Personally i would build it yourself (better value for money) it isn't too hard; watch a few vids on you tube/google for articles  Erm other thing to look at newegg??? I hear that is a good site for decent priced stuff in the US. I can give you the specs required if you want? Also i SHOULD really build a pc as my laptop's CPU is as slow as a snail when running clear sky  but i have installed stalker and it seems all good so far Other thing to bear in mind is fall of pripyat (stalker 3) is out sometime... |

It's well worth the upgrade! My laptop died on me so I used it as an excuse to go out and get a new one that would play stalker. I've only played 15 minutes of it but it looks great. |

Does anybody know the specs i need in order to play STALKER: SoC and STALKER:CS on meduim setting (Or high  )

I would go at least 1GB of memory and go for a 256 graphics card. Get the best one you can afford. A word of warning though - both games can be a bit buggy and crash out from time to time. With SOC load the patches before playing, this smooths out some of the bugs (you can find them online). Personally SOC is my favorite as it is more of a exploring game. Clear Sky has new maps (not extra as there are other maps missing from SOC). However the plot line and mission tends to drive you on rather than going off to explore the zone. I have also heard that there is a third game coming out. |

Got the box right here, the recommended is basically 1 gig of ram and a 256 meg 9c compatible card / Nvidia 7900 or ATI x1850. Any video card earlier than that will run like a three legged horse. My old PC was just below the minimum spec and it wouldn't even let me have a look at the loading screen. |

$1000 is about £600 right? Are you needing a monitor and other perephials too? If not, and you do consider to build it yourself, you could get a pretty nifty set of bits for that amount of money. I have a computery freind who may be able to give me some more info on various parts, should you need it. if you are willing to spend an extra 300 dollars recently purchased this has run fine so far but the LEDs can be a bit bright if your in a dark room. can run pretymuch everything out atm maxed with 60+ fps and the newest nvidia drivers let you use your video card as a physics processing unit. |
