Coldheart Posts: 530 Group: Members Member #83 Joined: May 19, 2009	I took a trip into town today and went into a couple of those cheapo shops you get in every town, you know the ones that sell household stuff, cheap chinese tools and other great junk. They're selling some cheap cars that are about 1/50 scale-ish. Every cheapo shop in town has them so they must be quite widely distributed. The bottom car is a pixar 1/55 car. To my eyes they're pretty near perfect heroic 28mm scale and cost £1.50 each. The absolutely best thing about them though is I put the police car on the workbench and hit the button on the top by accident, turns out it's got a working lightbar and siren! For a quid fifty..bargain! Other cars in this range include a sweet tractor, fire engine, several open top cars which are nice but might be hard to find a driver for and several BMWs and Mercedes. There was a box for an American style ambulance too but sadly they'd sold out on that one. I expect they'll be on eBay as soon as some enterprising soul spots them. I guess the checker pattern is what instills authority as it's small enough to get flipped by 3 disruptive and reasonably drunk sports fans. And I can speak from personal experience that it only takes two to flip a Ford Fiesta. Chrome_Cat: Roadside wrecks! Great idea! Need to get a roads department dump truck with snow plow. Very handy for clearing a path through the undead/mutant/alien horde for the rest of the convoy. Not to mention snow.

There's about a dozen of them and they look very similar to some of the wilder hotwheels cars with big exposed engines and that kind of thing. I found these too, you'll probably not be too impressed but I've been looking for some cheap giant robots for a battletech style game for ages. Ten for a quid, interchangable weapons and armour. Can't go wrong. They're 30mm tall and come with a boatload of great weapons and seperate armour pieces. Hooray for cheap Chinese crap!
