Back on thread.....

First up my last Duty member....

Posted Image
I think I missed a bit on the hood, off to the paint bench with you!

Posted Image
Some reworked CZ minis - as the Stalker Reaction Force (SRF). The M60 is off a toy truck.

Posted Image
More members of the SRF, with a tech Stalker.

Posted Image
Last members of the SRF. I tried to personalise the armour a bit as these guys are now in a post apoc world...heading East!

Posted Image
Wraith - a Famous Stalker who was captured by the military. British Special Ops (SAS) were sent in to free him and aid his escape to the UK. They reason they wanted him, to help train the (then) British Stalker Force - the SRF.

Posted Image
The mini is a EM4 trooper with mask and hood. Looks very Stalker like and a simple conversion.

Posted Image
Another shot showing of the Stalker Radiation symbol. Took me ages to paint that. Anyone tried painting rad symbols on 28mm minis?

Posted Image
Raven, also known as "Black Raven". A famous female Stalker who has captured the hearts of many male Stalkers. Mini is a EM4 Scav, with a AK added and a knife.

Playing Clear Sky today I discovered that the Stalker called Wolf has a brother called Hound. Seeing as wolf died in one of my campaigns I am thinking of renaming the mini!

Love the Stalker Reaction Force, they seem to exude a sense of both order and disorder... strange but totally awesome!

Cheers - Ex-military unit travelling the destroyed world, fighting mutants, educating survivors and slowly heading East. Oddly they dont know just what they are going to do when they arrive at the zone....but trouble can be expected for Bandits and the Red Star Military....and probably Monolith. :D

They figure taking the zone out is not an option as the zone has already done its worst.... or they hope it has.

Thanks for the comments.

As the silly season is here I doubt I will get much done in the next few weeks. So I plan to finish off some bits. There is at least 2 half finished terrain pieces for this project skulking in the box room. I have a load of half painted toys to finish too.

Future plans include a couple more duty guys and some extra Stalkers for various factions. I plan to get some more EM4 leads and modify them. One for each faction, just to mix up the feel of the units. I would also like to make a model of Merc - a mercenary that the Zone has touched (the character in the Clear Sky game). He heals quickly. I guess it would be fun to make up rules for his regenerating health. This guy wears a long version of the rookie Stalker hooded leather jacket. Oh - and I want more mutants too. Nasty twisted beasties. I have all sorts of plastic toys knocking about which I hope to make some zone nasties out of.

Great stuff as always, I loved the simple but effective hoddie conversion on Wraith and Raven's cool too.

Simple is best more often than not. Its quite easy to do. Maybe I should get a tutorial going when I do the next conversion.

Oh please do. I've had a devil of a time trying to turn out passable hoods.

A little help from the creator of these excellent minis might be just the thing I need.

Danny, my friend (And all-powerful Warlord!), I have to say; I think I prefer your STALKER project to MattBlackGod's World. (Not by a -huge- margin, but it's there. MBGW is pretty swish.)

If you like RPG's, then I think I know the perfect ruleset for a STALKER game: Twilight 2000.
Nicked a copy online (It was printed back in the 80's, and they replaced it with a new game. No worries.), and all I could think was 'STALKER'.

It's a fairly realistic game, but that just adds to it, for me. In fact, all you'd really need to do is make stat-lines and such for the muties, add a few encounter lines, and it'd be perfect for a campaign.

Drop me a line and let me know if it's okay to post a public link, otherwise I'll just do PM's for anyone interested.

Thanks, one reason I think it is more attractive is that the game background is modern so its easier to relate to. Where as MBW is more hard Sci-Fi of a Fallout/Mad Max/Deathlands/40K/Warzone mix.

I've always found the distinction between 'Hard' sci-fi and the 'normal' sci-fi odd..

It seems like a STALKER setting would be 'harder', considering that 'most' of it is rooted in fact, and the setting itself is.. pretty grim. (In a non-'Gothic!!11!' way.)
But, I'm not even done with my morning (Early afternoon.) coffee, so anything I say should be taken with a grain of salt.

I also think that the STALKER project is very interesting:
According to setting of STALKER take a look at this site ( it's about Prypiat town - I thin very inpiring for every post apoc collector) :scared:

I think that Hard Sci fi is nearer to fantasy like 40K and WZ.

Thanks for the comments angel, I have seem most of those posted to other sites. The game gives a certain horror element to it with the Sci-Fi. To be honest I love the setting, post apoc should be grim.
