Thats a interesting little system. Love the minis too - but I have to ask....No Balor One Eye? :D The range also needs some of the gods too.

Not tried it, but if it came up cheaply I'd give it a go... I'm defiantely less celtic and more nordic in my interests, hence the saxon/viking era; which seesm to be ending up Arthurian/saxon/viking...! (also there seem to be a lot of norse god miniatures out there!)

we may need to produce a hill or two, and maybe dig up a few stones...

Does this mean that I will have to make terrain that is green rather than grey/brown! Shudder! :D

No - just convince Laura that you need a green tablecloth! (or failing that, aim for a dartmoor long scrubby grass and voulders look :P )

Just found Bernard Cornwell's 'Sword Song' in a discount book shop, so expect late 800's saxons/vikings to appear on the menu (or return to the menu I guess) as additional influences...

Nice. The one on the left looks like he is dancing....

If it is, its a funny sling dance....

Shameless plug here: There are some duplicate vikings in the stuff I'm clearing out... If people like what I'm doing here, perhaps they should take a look... ;)

It must cost you a small fortune to base all these models

Looking good, Xander!

The dancing one is from Black Tree a.k.a. Icon(?) a.k.a. Harlequin Miniatures. Got one with the same pose but in a nasal helm and an axe. I call him "Skippy". :(|grin:

And considering current interest rates, there are worse ways to store your money.

Great. Now I'm in the mood to paint some more Vikings. Who needs ruins, anyway. Hey! Look! A butterfly...

EDIT:

Not that reading the Viking trilogy by Robert Low (The Whale Road, The Wolf Sea, and The White Raven) is helping any.

Well, I figure that having paid £4 for ~100 GW slotta bases in the past, this was probably a cheap way of doing things!

http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat1300355&prodId=prod800842&rootCatGameStyle= -> I picked one of these up cheaply a while ago, and have been apinting him on and off for quite a hile... yee gods, but its a fiddly figure! Its the sort of sculpting which reminds me of part of the reason I stopped painting GW figures!

I've not copied the paint scheme exactly, blending it with some of the descriptions of the lord of the wild hunt from 'The Moons of Gomrath'... hopefully I'll have something for people to look at by the end of the week...

I don't care much for the look of the accompanying hounds with the "Lord of the Hunt" figure, they look more like soaked sheep...

I must admitt, I'm not that fond of them either, but I'm struggling to find over sized warhouds which look like they should be the hunting pack of the Lord of the Wild Hunt...

Wagner!

Not much of a opera fan myself, but as a movie it may be doable.
