That's fair enough, I never liked those damn Space Elves anyway! Actually, I did like them... once. But I sold all that stuff recently :D

It does seem to be a little pricey...

might have to hunt around on eBay. They have some of the older metal ones pretty cheap. And, to be honest, I don't really mind that much!

Lol, that was my lunch time posting check :D I come home for lunch, check my characters on The West and drop by the forums if I've got time.

If you get hold of those platforms (the big or the little) I've got spare replacement guns if the one/s you get aren't armed with what you wanted.

The new plastic ones look pretty wicked too. If nothing else crops up I think I'll go with one of these!!

Now all I need is an opponent :/

This might prompt me to get a copy of 5150 actually...
I always thought solo gamers were a bit weird. Untill i tried it!

5150 is like a computer game but better. As the player, you can't make your side to do completely stupid things, like run into fire with out taking reaction checks to put him safe in snuggly cover.

Check out the custom rules i did for Vault Raid Part 1. All the THW products are meant to be retroactivly kept in line with the new core rules of Chain Reaction. The hit tables and reaction charts have been altered to reflect this. Book 2 for 5150 is coming out soon, and i think all the tables will be Chain Reation updated.

Keep in mind Ed's rule books aren't very intuitivly set out, but don't let it phase you, with a bit or playtesting and perseverance you can add what you like and take what you don't. And all the rule sets seem to be modular, so you can add things from the other Chain Reaction add ons like Ceral Killers and Gunfight at the OK corral or the Gangsters set. Even if you hear about mechanics from Nuts!! or FNG, it becomes very easy to make your own hybrid rules.
Yep i'm trying my hand at blogging to.

I reckon if you told someone 5 years ago that you were into solo gaming it was akin to telling them you wore a gingham dress at weekends and called yourself Susan but now it's pretty much accepted that a lot of people do it for want of local players, or players you'd not mind spending time with. I've played against a few people where to be honest the social aspect wasn't much better than solo. Solo-friendly games are the future, that's what I think anyway.

Meet Susan:

Haha...

Yeah I've tried a few of THW's stuff. Very cool actually. It did take me a while to get it, but once you play a few times it makes a lot of sense.

I have played NUTS! and CR3.0. My experience with CR was a lot better. I haven't played solo either time though. Might be time to check it out.

I had actually started putting together a mod for Secret Agent type games, with some extra skills like Knife-fighting, Sneaking and Smoke Grenades.

I've also recently become interested in the GAFDOZ range of rules and things. And the miniatures are just amazing. No idea how it plays though...

With the .45 Adventures sets, I think it would be possible to put together a solo game... just like it is in Warhammer Quest. Get some random generation tables, some default actions for troops (e.g. engaging or stand back and fire) and have a bit of an adventure with those.

Well I really feel like painting now but I have to do some work! (Don't worry, it's fun!)

Might play solo later tonight.. with Susan

Hehe, nice find but if she played wargames she'd be more likely to look like this...

Mr Flibble is very cross!

I'd love to play a solo secret agent game I've got some great figs for it and it seems ideally suited to a randomly generated adventure in a computer game style. I think Ross was on about a horror game that worked like that too.

The .45 adventure stuff is something which I keep meaning to take a look at.

I almost did and then my google-fu found a whole bunch of Savage Worlds stuff ..... and like most gamers the "newer" shiney stuff caught my eye. :D

I think they do something along those lines too, don't they? I might be mistaken.

They have some excellent rules going. I started a Pulp adventure with my girlfriend a while ago but we never finished it. My Nazis were opening up booby trapped treasure chests and generally dying all over the place.

Her party was about to ambush me and recover the treasure but we had to stop, can't remember why!

Shouldn't that read, "My Nazis were opening up her trapped treasure chest boobies..?"

At least Tinker didn't bring out the old 'My Wife dressed up as Poland, so I dressed up as Germany and invaded her' joke...
