I've read through it before but I've never played it. In my doddering old age I'm finding that the simpler the system the better.

"Bang, he's dead"
"Dead? What'd you roll?"
"I didn't roll, just easier this way"
"Ahhh, nice and simple..."

I've played them before - they are a very nice set, and play well. The only real let down is working out some of the modifiers for ranged combat, and the fact that calcualting the effects of armour/etc on damage is a bit of a nightmare. This can easily be simplified by ignoring some of the percentage decreases, and just using the effects of AC & and a straight damage reduction

Blimey, what does that make those forum members older than you?

..Oh man.. that's just bloody wrong..

Er... old dudes aside, the rules are a solid set.
I've only managed to do some solo tests of the combat system, but it's actually pretty slick once you get into it, and like every other RPG ever made, it's the human interaction that matters more than the rules. Fallout still wins for being PA.

PAForges' list is actually missing a few things I think; One good starting adventure, and maybe a sourcebook or two..

Yeah, that RPG has quite a lot of PDFs available for it... but I tend to be old school and need a paper copy to sit and read whilst in the , er, library.

Ross, I can't. I'm a busy man about town...

Whatchoo' talkin' 'bout, Tinker?
They make inkjet printers for a reason..

Or, you know.. ripping off your local library's kindness. (It's all black and white, so there shouldn't be any issue..)

I killed my old printer printing out the rulebook though.. nearly 200 pages in rapid succession, killing a printer? Imagine that.

My, printer could handle it... my ink cartridge on the other hand.

You kept the old printer right? Think of all those interesting terrain pieces waiting to be littered with the remains of one of those
There is a fellow that some of the members here might know Gabriel Landowski who used a spare piece of office equipment to build this... http://www.damnedhumanrace.com/tutorials/tutorial012.php I'm just waiting for the spark to start up my build of the same nature of beast.

I'm using the Fallout: Warfare rules that are bundled with the Fallout: Tactics game. I unlocked them during the process of trying to unlock the "Springfield" bonus mission.

:)

Very simple; there are only 32 pages of rules, and they're all super-straight-forward. I ran a couple of test battles with 5- and 6-man squads, and it was fast and furious. I'm getting incredibly inspired by the pics on this site, and I'll be whipping up some map-boards very soon!

Anything to avoid going outside and getting some sun LOL.

Please post some pictures of your boards, Ninjamonkey73!

Still in the drafting stage... won't get to make any mock-ups until Sunday. I did some sketches at work last night LOL.

Hopefully assembling some Super Mutants before work Saturday, if I'm awake.
