After a short stint back to 40k, I realised I just cant stay away form the PA genre. With diceheads recent rulebook being posted I was inspired to build some terrain!

Here is the first piece I started working on, just a little tent. I'm stuck on how to go about making a removable roof for it. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Tell us how you made that fantastic tent and we'll give suggestions on making a roof. :(|grin:

bamboo skewer frame with some facial tissue soaked in super glue for the fabric.

That's as far as I got (although unpainted) before I came across the same problem as you have.

That looks Awesome! As for the roof, how about building a pyramid shape with cocktail skewers/etc, and the covering that with the glue-soaked tissue? As the skewers will be covered, it should be fairly easy to add extra reinforcement... failing that, how about a pyramind shaped wood block? Should be fairly light, so hopefully it won't crush the structure, but also pretty resistant?

Awesome start. Not too sure on how to do the top. Make it as a frame that slots into the current uprights and rests on the cross peices. Then add the tissue latter (whilst it is off the tent).

Build a Bedouin style roof for your tent.

Nice tent btw.
One or two of those three sided ones would both look sweet and be easy enough to do.

That would look pretty nice with some junk for sale on rugs like old weapons and crates of supplies.

Hmmmmm, the top with a slight overhang, the edges rolled up under, almost seamless, I like it!!

Nice find Tinker.

I guess you folks know of this tent?

I can't find the GW link but if I can find the file I have the template for the Gorka Morka tent somewhere.

I have the Hour of Wolves bookmarked, and for sometime, but I never have seen that tent... and it is a tent that is a work of art. But I don't see it lasting very long on the wastes unless in a fortified city area, or desert.

You'll have to find the Gorka-Morka template, I'd like to see it.

It looks like I'll have to find the tent template on my PC as the original GW web article has been removed.

Haven't finished the tent, but I had some time last night and decided to try out a couple of wall styles to get some idea on what I want to build next.

First: my attempt at copying the orange brick walls style in fallout 1 and 2

Second: I'm contemplating using this style for the inside of some sort of modular sewer or bunker tunnel system I want to build but probably never will. the back of this one was a test in making a cracked wall with wood supports behind it.
