A friend showed me this vassal engine thing, I don't know a lot about it but it looks highly interesting from what I've read. It's basically a virtual board with dice so you can play games either on a server or by email. It seems you can import rules for quite a few popular games. I thought it might be interesting especially for gamers without people to play against or maybe we could get some games going on here? There seems to be tons of modules for it. VASSAL |

Maybe a necromunda tourney? It strikes me as a pretty common ruleset that those who have some GW would pick up easily. I know I did. A few of us could sample it... +edit+ Assuming there is a Necro one that is... I know there's a Vassal 40k mod that is pretty popular. Edited by freebooter, Jun 6 2009, 04:17 AM.

Having a look through their modules, there are some great contenders for us here. All Things Zombie, from 2hr wargames. Need to get the rules, but I think a couple of us already have them (atleast I've got the 1st edition in pdf...) http://www.vassalengine.org/community/index.php?option=com_vassal_modules&task=display&module_id=301 Zombies!! Is easy enough to pickup even if you don't know the rules, and plays through very nicely http://www.vassalengine.org/community/index.php?option=com_vassal_modules&task=display&module_id=630 No idea what this is, but could be promising: http://www.vassalengine.org/community/index.php?option=com_vassal_modules&task=display&module_id=654 Bug Eyed Monsters - looks fun http://www.vassalengine.org/community/index.php?option=com_vassal_modules&task=display&module_id=438 Road Rage - free rules to download, of which both Danny & I have PDFs... http://www.vassalengine.org/community/index.php?option=com_vassal_modules&task=display&module_id=92 http://www.vassalengine.org/community/index.php?option=com_vassal_modules&task=display&module_id=399 |

i used to play 40k on vassal all the time... i thought about trying to learn how to program the thing and make a Stargrunt module, but w/e. i'll have to check out these other ones you linked, though... |

Ooh... A Stargrunt module would be awesome. Well, we'd need a Fullthrust one too. Dirtside would be awesome also... |

http://www.fortressfigures.com/zombieplague/ A fellow I know who worked my LHS co-wrote and did the artwork for that boardgame. Fortress sells zombies too, believe they're resin. There is a Yahoo Group that has died down a bit, and there was at least three yahoo groups playing via yahoo. Boardgamegeek has files for various expansions, http://www.boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/7514 . As well as card set too, very similar to the ones that you have been working on in your Zombie Thread Edited by Tinker, Jun 11 2009, 12:50 AM.

we could try and make one... back when i actually play v40k i talked to those guys a bit (kinda) and i'm sure they''ld give us a few pointers or at least links to some tutorials/walkthroughs. and it's not like we would need as beautifully detailed sprites as v40k, just some stuff to act as stand ins for a few generic armies... and i think someone did make a full thrust module. or was that starmada? i'm not sure, but it was some space combat game .edit: it was starmada, my bad
