I spotted this in the Combat Zone chronicles. Its a nice Post Apoc vehicle conversion, it might fire your juices up.

Muckland scavenger

I have a old Mk1 Rhino some place (and a Mk3 one). They might get a face lift soon.

Not a bad little rocket that one! Quite like the water feature in the background too.

Not a bad use for a pretty common kit. I could walk into any hobby store in the world and I'd be surprised if they didn't have an M113 lying around somewhere :P

I'd much rather use a resin Eureka one, if they still have those. I still don't agree with 1/35 being the right size, unless using the hatches to mod smaller vehicles to fit heroic scale figures.

Oooh... Shiny.

Well, I was intending on placing a Eureka order... It wouldn't hurt to add in some Kriegspiel Aussies and an M113, would it? :$

Armorcast does a Resin M113 in 1/48 scale. They also do a very nice pack of 1/48th scale US .50 Cal Machine Guns. :pilot:

With all the GW Landraider Templates on the web I should beleive that with a little effort you can scratch build an APC of some passable type.

A Yahoo group dedicated to paper scifi models with a fair few 40k and other goodies in their files section.

Nah, never had much of a knack for scratch building from plasticard. I'd prefer just find a plastic kit in one of the local model stores. I recently picked up a Hobby Boss T-34/85 for my Weird War Soviets and it only set me back just under $20. Great kit too :)

Well I went and ordered the Eureka one.
Last I heard though, the Armorcast ones were OOP?

Oh.. it's back.
Still it is 1/48 which is seriously huge, when I get the Eureka one I shall measure it and see what it really is, fortunately the M113 is actually a real item (I rode on one once) so I will be able to tell what scale it really is.
If worst comes to worst one could use these woodcraft kits:

scroll down to see the AFVs, you will have to replace weapons, sights and other structures on top but should make a passable vehicle for gaming, or perhaps convert a toy.
